Technique Training

Technique training is a part of every practice.

  • Various aspects of the stroke are emphasized during swims.
  • Swimmers are often pulled out of the water to work on an aspect of the stroke.
  • Swimmers are stopped during a swim to listen to stroke correction instructions.
  • Swimmers are asked to repeat a swim or turn in an effort to correct the technique.

Although swimmers will be working in smaller groups throughout the season with coaches, they can’t begin to think that the only time to work on technique is only in these group situations.  Swimmers must focus and work on the technique every time they swim.  We emphasize that they need to swim perfect in practice so they can swim perfect at a meet.
