Organizational Structure
Board of Directors
The Oysters Swim Team is administered by a Board of Directors which consists of adult family members who volunteer to be on the board. Board members are asked register with NE Swim, complete a background check, and complete the athlete protection course. They are asked to attend a monthly meeting which is held during a practice whenever possible.
The board consists of a president, vice president, treasurer, and at least 6 other volunteers. The head coach is not a voting board member but does attend the meetings. Board members can be asked to assume specific responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, NE Swim House of Delegates representative, Safety Official, parent jobs organizer, weekly Blast editor and distributor, and meet equipment manager.
Head Coach
The head coach is responsible for the daily operations of the swim team including, but not limited to, hiring associate and assistant coaches, training of coaches, registration of swimmers, meet manager for home meets and March championship meet, meet entries, pool rental reservations and practice calendars, billing of fees, and practice organization.
Associate Coaches
The associate coaches assume the role of deck coach when the head coach is not present. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, practice workouts for their specific groups, training high school coaches, dive certifying swimmers, assigning swimmers to specific lanes, coaching at meets, and discussing concerns with parents.
Assistant Coaches
These coaches are responsible for training swimmers in the lanes they are assigned to at each practice. The do assist at meets when needed. They can work with the associate coaches and the head coach to develop workouts.
