A huge success for our team came from a weekend of big and tough swims. With a total of 959 points and a 2nd place title overall, we couldn’t be more proud to watch our swimmers hit best times even with the air quality diminishing. Keep it up, Shawmut! Belinda Donohoe, Mitchell Gariepy, Billy Knaul, Ali Robertson, and Andrea Wei of our national group traveled to and competed in East Meadow, NY this weekend. What a great achievement for our 5 national-qualifiers!
This weekend, our national group consisting of Isabel Berdecio, Billy Knaul, Ali Robertson, Andrea Wei, and Chelsea Zhang traveled to Geneva, Ohio to compete at the 2017 Futures Championship. Billy Knaul scored 23 points, and both Ali and Andrea scored 15. Impressive individual swims include: Billy Knaul finished 2nd in the 100 fly. Ali Robertson placed 4th in the 200 IM, setting the team record. Andrea Wei placed 4th in the 100 fly, breaking her own team record. Great work from our national group!
Shawmut scored a total of 525.5 points at Harvard this weekend. Our individual scorers include: CJ Sheldon (68), Eve Piazza (65), Paige Meller (46), Nick Andrews (41.5), Axel Fraud (41), Katy Naomi Boegholm (15), Jiro Batt (12), Dunbar (12), Tim Andrews (9), Emma Nero (5), and Tyler Okun (5). Phenomenal team effort this weekend at Harvard from all of our 10 & under swimmers. Great job to our individual point scorers: Tessa LaFrenier (21), Kelly Young (12), Claire Uiterwyk (11), Magnus Selvig (9.5), Elijah Dimov (7), and Elijah Ginzburg (4). The boy’s 200 free relay finished 2nd, breaking the team record, and the boy’s 200 and 400 medley relay both finished 3rd. Our girl’s 200 medley relay finished 3rd overall. In a warm-weathered weekend, Shawmut had multiple phenomenal swims and best times. 50% of our swimmers scored points: Belinda Donohoe (7), Mitchell Gariepy (22), Billy Knaul (13), Ali Robertson (6), and Andrea Wei (11). Our swimmers this weekend compiled an impressive 1063 points! Our men’s 200 medley relay with Axel Fraud, Johann Zhang, Tim Andrews, and Nick Andrews broke the team record with a time of 1:59.04, and our men’s 400 free relay with Nick Andrews, William de Haan, Johann Zhang, and Axel Fraud was also broken.
