Huge win for Shawmut. It was a great team effort with many personal best, records and top performances in NE. We had many top 10 scorers in each age group. Christian Schoen (3rd), Emma Benkert (10th), Molly Pierce (3rd), Abby Benkert (5th), Drew Beland (6th), Megan Pierce (6th) , Lizzy Thayer (8th), Richie Smith (1st), Shawn Nee (4th) and Tim Long (10th).
Shawmut had another great TEAM performance. We had a number of stand out performances. The following swimmers were top 10 in their age groups: Sophia Brindisi (6th), Zoei Howard (3rd), Caleigh Wukitch (9th), Amelia Benkert (1st), Ali Robertson (4th), Andrea Wei (8th), Alex Pecze (4th), Jeremy Xu (7th),and Billy Knaul (8th). The USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team recognizes exceptional student-athletes in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have achieved a required time standard. This year, five Shawmut swimmers earned the Scholastic All-American distinction. Congratulations to Sarah Bartholomae, Sarah Conklin, Shawn Nee, Kayla Lilly, and Elizabeth Thayer! 5 Scholastic All- American Team members on Shawmut tied for 1st in NE.
The USA Swimming Virtual Club Championship ranks all of the 2600+ USA Swimming registered clubs in the country at the end of each season. Shawmut ranked 69th for the 2011-2012 SCY season and 77th for the 2012 LCM season. Shawmut Aquatic Club in #1 in the country for teams with under 150 -18 and Under swimmers.

SHAWMUT'S TOP 10 of USA SWIMMING Four Shawmut swimmers achieved a National Top 10 ranking for their age group over the past year. In the 2011-2012 SCY season, Shawn Nee ranked 3rd in the 100y fly and 9th in the 100y back. In the 2012 LCM season, Andrea Wei was 9th in the 200m fly and 10th in the 100m fly. Christian Schoen ranked 9th in the 200m fly, and Zoei Howard was 9th in the 100m back and 5th and the 50m back.
Christian Schoen beats his own New England record in the 200 meter Butterfly on Sunday June 24th, at an in season MBM meet. His time was fast enough to claim the resident record set by James Allen in 2009 by 2 seconds as well. Christian posted a time of 2:21.84 which currently is top 10 in the country! Congratulations on another great SAC fundraiser! Together we raised over $7000 through Yankee Candle sales and donations. A special congratulations goes to Alexi Wong who was the top SAC fundraiser for the 2nd year in a row. Alexi sold $784 of Yankee Candle merchandise. AWESOME, Alexi!!! The Red Group raised the most amount of money (per swimmer) and they will be awarded the PIZZA PARTY! GREAT JOB, Red Group!!!
The Scholastic All-America program is open to all 10th-12th grade USA Swimming members who earn a 3.5 GPA or better and achieve a Junior National Bonus Time Standard or swim in a selected disability championship meet or the Open Water National Championships. Congratulations to Lauryn Brown, Michael McGean, Megan Pierce, Sarah Conklin!
