Our Dedicated Coaching Staff

At Mexico Tiger Sharks Swim Club, our coaches bring a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep understanding of swimming to every practice.

Head Coach: Jessie Coughlan

  • Groups: Junior/Senior/Silver
  • About: Jessie's journey with the Tiger Sharks began in 2008 as a swimmer, continuing until 2018. A Mexico CSD alumna, she competed on the varsity swim team for five years before joining Canisius University's swim team for two years. Jessie holds a degree in Sport Pedagogy and Coaching and is currently pursuing her Master's in Physical Education and Athletics. Her coaching experience includes two seasons as Assistant Coach for the East Aurora Boys Varsity swim team and 2.5 years as an Assistant Coach for the East Aurora USA swim team. Jessie is thrilled to return to the Mexico Tiger Sharks, a program she credits with shaping her into the strong-willed individual she is today.

Age Group Coach: Bri Clark

  • Groups: Gold
  • About: Bri's connection to the Mexico Tiger Sharks spans over 15 years, starting as a swimmer in 2006 and transitioning to coaching five years ago. She was a four-year varsity swimmer at Mexico CSD and a SUNY Oswego graduate with a degree in Psychology. The Mexico Tiger Sharks are a significant part of Bri's family; her brother also swam with the team, and her parents are dedicated volunteers, with her mother, Amy Clark, serving as the current Treasurer on the Board.

Age Group Coach: Jen Wisniewski

  • Groups: Bronze
  • About: Jen's swimming roots trace back to age 10 with the Cato Meridian Otters in the Niagara district of USA Swimming. As soon as she could get working papers, she began teaching swim lessons at her local recreation center. With a few breaks for education and family, Jen has dedicated over 20 years to helping young swimmers develop their skills. Her family moved to Mexico from North Syracuse in 2018, quickly becoming active Tiger Shark parents and volunteers. Both her daughter and son currently swim on the team, and Jen is also a member of the Board of Directors.

Age Group Coach: Laurel von Holtz

  • Groups: Bronze
  • About: Laurel is a Mexico local who came through just before the Varsity teams were developed, so she followed the YMCA path in synchronized swimming. Laurel served as a synchronized swimming coach in college, and assisted the co-ed modified swim team in Mexico for 3 years as a high school student. As a parent, Laurel served on Boards of both daughters' swim teams before coming on as a coach for the Tiger Sharks in 2021-2022, and is back on the staff as of fall 2024!
