Edison Otters Summer Swim Team 2025

Welcome to the Edison Otters Summer Swim Team! We’re excited to kick off another season of fun, fitness, and competition at the beautiful Oakcrest Community Pool.

Practice Schedule

June 2 – June 25 (Afternoon Practices):

  • Blue Team (typically 11 & under): 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

  • White Team (typically 12 & up): 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

June 26 – August 15 (Morning Practices):

  • White Team: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM

  • Blue Team: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Team Structure

We offer two training groups based on age and ability:

  • Blue Team: Swimmers 11 & under or those still developing basic stroke technique and form.

  • White Team: Swimmers 12 & up or those who are proficient in all four strokes and working on speed and endurance.

Final group placements will be determined by the coaching staff.

Attendance Policy

This is a short and focused season. Swimmers are expected to attend at least 3 practices per week. Regular attendance helps create a stronger team experience and improves individual performance.

  • Unexcused absences of 2 or fewer practices per week, consistently, may result in loss of meet eligibility or dismissal from the team.

  • Excused absences include:

    • Vacations (with at least 1-week notice)

    • Illness (with a doctor’s note)

    • Special circumstances (must be discussed with the coaching staff)

Swim Meets

  • Meets are held on Wednesday evenings (starting around 5:00 PM) and Saturday mornings (typically ending before noon).

  • The first meet is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Parent Volunteer Requirement

To successfully run our meets and team events, each family is required to volunteer.

  • Work Bond: $300–$400 charged at the end of the season if volunteer requirements are not met.

  • Families must work at least 3 swim meets or team events to fulfill this obligation.

  • More information will be provided in the team handbook at the start of the season.

Program Cost & Billing

The total cost for the season is $330. This fee covers the full 2-month program (excluding swimwear and equipment).

Payment Schedule:

  • $120 upon registration

  • $120 on June 23

  • $90 on July 28

Note: Split payments are for convenience only and cannot be prorated or adjusted. You are enrolling for the entire season. If preferred, the full amount can be paid at registration.

Registration & YMCA Membership Requirement

All swimmers must be either a YMCA Full Facility Member or Program Member to participate.
