With a sign that summer is indeed on its way, our first meet of the Long Course season was a big success! Our 14 attending swimmers joined their peers from 9 other teams at the May Warmup Meet at Rutgers University this past Saturday. With May 1st in the books, many of our seniors have committed to swim for their schools in September. Lafayette College, Rochester Institute of Technology, East Stroudsburg University, Ramapo College, Husson University, Montclair University, and The College of New Jersey are all lucky to have them join their rosters! A fellow NJ coach quipped, “Tell your kids to slow down!” NJB was well- represented at this season’s Eastern Zones Speedo Sectionals at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Our 10 swimmers joined hundreds of the region’s top swimmers from the other attending 131 teams over the four day event. Our new little team earned impressive team scores with our girls finishing 36, our boys finishing 18, and a combined team 25th Place finish. Their 43 splashes yielded 24 Career Best Times, top finishes in Finals, and 12 new Team Records!...

Congratulations to our little ‘Cudas who qualified for NJ Swimming’s 14& Under Junior Olympic Championships at Rutgers this past weekend. Our three swimmers had a great weekend, earning Career Best Times in 7 of their 10 splashes, and 4 new Team Records! Peyton Berg (12), a five-event qualifier had a great weekend swimming personal bests in her 50 Fly and 50 Free. Both were new Team Records. It was another great showing this weekend at the NJ Swimming Senior Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our attending swimmers, the most since the team began, earned personal best times, top places, team records, and even some sectional cuts over the four days! Our little team even managed to finish 6th of 36 teams overall! And they just keep getting faster! Our swimmers had another stellar showing at this season’s 13&Over Silver Bronze Championships at the Berkeley Aquatic Center in New Providence over the weekend. Our 19 attending swimmers earned personal best times, top places, and even a few new Gold times! Of our 72 splashes, an incredible 39 were Career Best Times. There were 26 Silver times swum, and new Gold times by Zach Bezold (200 Free), Hannah Calderon (200 Back), and Billy Ruddy (200 Free). Our 12 & Unders had another good showing this past weekend at the Silver Bronze Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our 12 attending little ‘Cudas earned 32 Career Best Times in their 70 splashes, 3 new JO times, 8 new team records, and a bunch of top-finishes. What a great finish to the short course season! Our swimmers concluded their regular meet season with some great performances at this season’s Will You BB Mine meet at Raritan Valley Community College. Our 20 attending swimmers took top places, earned Career Best Times, tried some new events, and more.
