Congratulations to our little ‘Cudas who qualified for NJ Swimming’s 14& Under Junior Olympic Championships at Rutgers this past weekend. Our three swimmers had a great weekend, earning Career Best Times in 7 of their 10 splashes, and 4 new Team Records! Peyton Berg (12), a five-event qualifier had a great weekend swimming personal bests in her 50 Fly and 50 Free. Both were new Team Records. It was another great showing this weekend at the NJ Swimming Senior Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our attending swimmers, the most since the team began, earned personal best times, top places, team records, and even some sectional cuts over the four days! Our little team even managed to finish 6th of 36 teams overall! And they just keep getting faster! Our swimmers had another stellar showing at this season’s 13&Over Silver Bronze Championships at the Berkeley Aquatic Center in New Providence over the weekend. Our 19 attending swimmers earned personal best times, top places, and even a few new Gold times! Of our 72 splashes, an incredible 39 were Career Best Times. There were 26 Silver times swum, and new Gold times by Zach Bezold (200 Free), Hannah Calderon (200 Back), and Billy Ruddy (200 Free). Our 12 & Unders had another good showing this past weekend at the Silver Bronze Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our swimmers concluded their regular meet season with some great performances at this season’s Will You BB Mine meet at Raritan Valley Community College. Our 20 attending swimmers took top places, earned Career Best Times, tried some new events, and more. The Sussex County Championships at Kittatinny Regional High School on February 2nd pitted about 150 swimmers from 8 area teams against one another in a meet of fast swimming. The meet was observed by USA Swimming, so all registered swimmers’ times counted. In attendance were about 20 NJB swimmers lending a hand to their respective high school teams. It was a busy weekend of swimming for our NJB swimmers as they competed at the Pro Bowl at Berkeley Aquatic Club in New Providence, while some of our seniors also swam for their respective high school teams at the HWS Championships at Kittatinny Regional High School in Hampton- some swam both! Our NJB swimmers traveled north to compete at the Winter Festival at Valley Central High School in Montgomery, NY last weekend and returned home with 110 Career Best Times, 58 Silver Times, 36 Gold Times, 5 Sectional Times, 21 new Team Records, 18 First Places, and much more. In our first meet following the holiday season, swimmers looked great. About 57% of all splashes were Career Best Times (Personal Bests) including 36 Gold/JO times, 5 Sectional times, and more. In what has become the premier mid-season meet for the region’s finest swimmers, athletes from across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York went head-to-head at Rutgers University for the Holiday Classic XXXII, hosted by Eastern Express. There were hundreds of swimmers from 42 different teams competing. Just qualifying for this meet (and getting in) is notable! Our 5 qualifying attendees had an amazing weekend. This crew brought our up-and-coming team much recognition with 8 appearances in Finals, 28 Gold times swum, a few Sectional* and Futures* cuts, 14 Career Best...
