The Sussex County Championships at Kittatinny Regional High School on February 2nd pitted about 150 swimmers from 8 area teams against one another in a meet of fast swimming. The meet was observed by USA Swimming, so all registered swimmers’ times counted. In attendance were about 20 NJB swimmers lending a hand to their respective high school teams. It was a busy weekend of swimming for our NJB swimmers as they competed at the Pro Bowl at Berkeley Aquatic Club in New Providence, while some of our seniors also swam for their respective high school teams at the HWS Championships at Kittatinny Regional High School in Hampton- some swam both! Our NJB swimmers traveled north to compete at the Winter Festival at Valley Central High School in Montgomery, NY last weekend and returned home with 110 Career Best Times, 58 Silver Times, 36 Gold Times, 5 Sectional Times, 21 new Team Records, 18 First Places, and much more. In what has become the premier mid-season meet for the region’s finest swimmers, athletes from across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York went head-to-head at Rutgers University for the Holiday Classic XXXII, hosted by Eastern Express. There were hundreds of swimmers from 42 different teams competing. Just qualifying for this meet (and getting in) is notable! Our 5 qualifying attendees had an amazing weekend. Our NJB swimmers joined eight other teams in a weekend of fast swimming at the annual Holiday Splash at the Berkeley Aquatic Center of Excellence in New Providence. Our 18 attending swimmers made their presence known with top times, big time drops, top places, new team records, and more. A great weekend was had by our 14 & Under swimmers who joined others from 10 different teams at this season’s Treasure Island meet at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. The 47 splashes by our attending swimmers yielded Best Times, new Team Records, Top Places, and even a JO cut! Improvement and growth were the big stories on the weekend. Our 13&Over swimmers joined athletes from 6 other teams for a challenging competition at the TYR Distance Derby at Newark Academy in Livingston over the weekend.
