Over 700 swimmers from 13 states are converged on SwimRVA in Richmond, VA for the USA Swimming Futures Championships from August 2-5. This was one of four championship meets taking place last weekend across the United States. Futures Championships provides swimmers with a stepping stone between Sectionals and Junior Nationals. Congratulations to our swimmers for qualifying for this season’s long course JOs at Rutgers, and on some great swims there. Jake Riva had a good weekend swimming the 100 Fly and 100 Free, dropping 1.08 and 1.12 respectively off of his best LC times and qualifying for finals in both. It was an exciting weekend of swimming at the NJ Swimming Silver/Bronze Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our 28 attending swimmers rocked the blocks! Our Barracudas had 89 splashes over the weekend, with 52 (58%) of them being Personal Best (LC) times! Of those, 10 exceeded 5 seconds of improvement. Aloha! Our swimmers competed at the Scarlet Luau Meet at Princeton University over the weekend, once again swimming personal best times, top places, and more! Regarding times, in most cases the entry times used were converted Short Course times.
