It was an exciting weekend of swimming at the NJ Swimming Silver/Bronze Championships at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence. Our 28 attending swimmers rocked the blocks! Our Barracudas had 89 splashes over the weekend, with 52 (58%) of them being Personal Best (LC) times! Of those, 10 exceeded 5 seconds of improvement. Aloha! Our swimmers competed at the Scarlet Luau Meet at Princeton University over the weekend, once again swimming personal best times, top places, and more! Regarding times, in most cases the entry times used were converted Short Course times. Our 15 and overs not only had a great season with us this year, they also contributed significantly to their high school teams’ successes. Samantha Russell and Jake Riva traveled to Ithaca College for a 4 day weekend of fast swimming at the 2018 Speedo Sectionals. Hundreds of the region’s top swimmers from the over 100 teams in attendance earned their spot in this prestigious meet. Some of the top swimmers in the LSC came together last weekend for some fast swimming at the NJ Swimming Senior Open Championships at Berkeley Aquatic Center, in New Providence. Our 7 qualifying swimmers faced off against peers from 32 teams; the boys finished 11th and the girls 15th. We are proud of our 5 swimmers for qualifying for this season’s 11-14 JOs at Rutgers University over the weekend. They joined hundreds of swimmers from about 60 different teams for a weekend of fast swimming. Our Barracudas Jillian Berg, Zach Bezold, Anthony Carlson, Jordan Maruska, and Sydney Mills did not disappoint.
