Senior Swim Groups
B
Like Red group, this group is designed for athletes who are good at and enjoy swimming and desire the benefits of anaerobic training, but they do not necessarily consider themselves swimmers primarily. They may have other athletic aspirations or simply do not want to compete. They may or may not be interested in refining their swim technique, but they want a sport where they can make good friends. Their main goal may be simply to develop overall fitness, to become well-rounded athletes, or to join a masters swim team once they turn 18.
- Ages: 13-18
- Attendance: 3 per week, though attendance is not mandatory.
- Swimming requirements: 10x50s Freestyle @1:10, legal 100 IM, 10x50s kick @1:20
- Equipment required: water bottle, kickboard, fins
- Main emphasis: athleticism,
- Swim meets: optional
A
Like Black group, this group is designed for athletes who are have swimming goals. They are aspiring to become Performance Group swimmers who are consistently achieving better times. They are making State Championship times in several events each year.
- Ages: 13-18
- Attendance: Minimum 4 per week
- Swimming requirements: 10x50s Freestyle @1:00, block dive starts, 10x50s kick @1:10, legal 4x200 IMs @4:00
- Equipment required: water bottle, kickboard, fins, paddles, pull buoy, tempo trainer, dryland clothes
- Main emphasis: refining all 4 strokes, dive starts, turns, anaerobic and aerobic training, endurance
- Swim meets: mandatory to maintain group status
