Rejoin the Mustangs

If you were previously on the team but chose to terminate your membership and now wish to rejoin please fill out our Dallas Mustangs Rejoin Request (linked later in these instructions).  

Per our Termination Policy you will rejoin as a new member and be subject to new member registration fees as well as the possibility of a waitlist based on group and location requests and availability.

You will be contacted when there is space available for your swimmer and then you can proceed with registration steps.  

Please note: You will need to be able to log in to your USA Swimming account to complete this form.   If you have issues with login you will need to work with USA Swimming to resolve.   We will use this information to determine if the team needs to charge you $110 to renew the USA Swimming membership based on your current membership status and where we are in the yearly USA Swimming cycle (September - August).

Do I need to tryout?  

  • If your swimmer was on the team in the past year/season, they do not need to attend a tryout.   They will request to rejoin in the same group they were in before. 
  • If your swimmer is rejoining after more than a yearlong break, you will need to attend a tryout.  Please see Dallas Mustangs - How to Join for tryout details.   Please attend the tryout before continuing with the next steps and submitting the request to Rejoin the Mustangs form.

How do I request to rejoin?

  • Please submit all required information in the Dallas Mustangs Rejoin Request form. 
  • Please note:
    • In order to complete the above form, it will require you to sign in to your USA Swimming account to obtain some information.  This account is managed by USA Swimming and you will need to work with them for any issues with login.
    • Unless you have a current active swimmer on the Mustangs team you will not be able to sign in to your old Mustangs Account until we reactivate it through the rejoin process.

How quicky can I start practices?

  • This will be based on a combination of when you submit the form and what availability exists in the requested group and location.
  • Forms submitted prior to the 15th of the month will be processed for you to join the team or the waitlist at the start of the following month.
  • Forms submitted after the 15th of the month will be processed for the following month. 
  • For example, if you submit the form on March 13 you will be processed for rejoining (or waitlist) on April 1.   If you submit the form on March 23, you will be processed for rejoining (or waitlist) on May 1. 
  • Please note:  May 15 (starting practices in June) will be the last date we will accept a rejoin request before the start of the new season in September.    (Note: Our season runs September - August)
  • Anyone wishing to be considered to rejoin in September at the start of a new season must submit the form by August 15.    Please note, we usually experience a waitlist at the start of the season especially with Pre-Comp, Bronze and Silver groups.  You can expect to be part of the new swimmer lottery/waitlist process at the start of a new season.

What happens after I submit the form?

  • Your form will be processed according the timing listed above
  • Once we process the request, you can expect to receive an email from us with next steps.  This email will include
    • Confirmation of acceptance into current group or placement on waitlist based on availability
    • Confirmation of if you will be charged the USA Swimming renewal fee
    • Any other important information or next steps
