38 Swimmers with OSSC Ties to Compete at Olympic Trials
Congrats to all of our age group, post-grad, and collegiate swimmers competing at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha June 26-July 3. With past and current swimmers combined, we have 38 swimmers with OSSC connections who are competing in Omaha.
Jason Mathews, Janessa Mathews, and Miranda Donley will represent our OSSC age group program. Alex Norris is an Ohio State post-grad who will represent the OSSC.
2015 OSSC and CSG grad, Rachel Politi, will represent the University of Virginia/Cavalier Swimming in the 400 IM on Sunday.
There will also be 33 other Ohio State University swimmers who historically represent the collegiate portion of the OSSC each summer.
We also want to acknowledge and congratulate Coach Sam Cheverton, who recently wrapped up her swimming career at the Canadian Olympic Trials. And while Sam didn’t qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games, she represented her country extremely well and inspired all of her OSSC swimmers to strive for greatness in this sport. Sam has been an incredible addition to the OSSC coaching staff, and we’re all extremely proud of her.
Olympic Trials Prelims will be shown live every day at 11 a.m. ET via the NBC Sports app. For all of our Columbus viewers, here are the approximate swim times for swimmers who came through the OSSC age group program:
- Rachel will swim the 400 IM around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday
- Jason will swim the 100 breast around 1 p.m. on Sunday
- Janessa will swim the 100 breast around 12:15 p.m. on Monday
- Miranda will swim the 50 free around 11 a.m. on Saturday
Go Bucks!
