3 OSSC Swimmers Named to 18 & Under World Team!

We are thrilled to announce that Spencer Aurnou-Rhees, Janessa Mathews and Martina Peroni have been named to the 18 & Under World Team! This means that these three swimmers were ranked top 100 in the entire world in at least one event in 2019. The detailed info from USA Swimming is below:
The 18 & Under World 100 is a ranking of the best 18 & Under swimmers in The United States, according to their 18 & Under World Ranking. The goal of the program is to acknowledge the excellence achieved by our best 18 & Under athletes, their coaches who lead them and their clubs who support them. The athlete must be a registered USA Swimming member at the time of the qualifying performance. The athlete must be eligible to represent the U.S. in International Competition as of December 15th, 2019. The athlete must be 18 or under on September 2nd, 2019.
- Spencer ranks 99th in the world in the 200 IM (2:06.25). He achieved this ranking as a 15-year-old!
- Janessa ranks 41st in the world in the 100 breast (1:09.70) and 52nd in the world in the 200 breast (2:31.48).
- Martina ranks 94th in the world in the 400 IM (4:53.11). She also achieved this ranking as a 15-year-old!
We are incredibly proud of these swimmers, and we want to congratulate them, their families, teammates, and coaches for this amazing accomplishment!
