- Over 20 years of total coaching experience (masters, high school, club). After graduating from IU in 1999, Kyle coached the Greater Columbus Masters Team. He became an assistant coach with his alma mater, St. Charles, in 2001. The next year, he became the head coach at St. Charles. Kyle continues to coach at St. Charles, although he changed to a volunteer capacity when he became the head coach of the OSSC in 2009. Kyle was the GCSTO Level 4-Elite coach from 2006-09 before he began coaching with the OSSC.

- A featured speaker at the 2009 ASCA World Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
- Under Kyle’s leadership, the OSSC has achieved the following: 2019 World 100 Team (3 swimmers ranked top 100 in the World), 2018 World 100 Team (2 swimmers ranked top 100 in the World), three 2016 Olympic Trials swimmers, Small-Team (2010) & Large-Team (2015-19) 14-and-under State Champions, 15 & over State Champions (2015-19), Sectional Champions (2013-19), NASA Junior National Runner-up (2015), 2016-19 Silver Medal ranking in the Club Excellence Program, Level IV Club Recognition ranking from USA Swimming, and ranked as high as 21st in USA Swimming’s Virtual Club Championships.
- Lives in Worthington with his wife, Jamee, his 12-year-old daughter, Abigail, and his eight-year-old son, Carter.
- Most likely the only swim coach in the world who has also been a deputy sheriff and an attorney.
- Served as the Treasurer for Ohio Swimming (2013-2016) & currently serves as the Technical Planning Chair (2019-).
Why do you love to coach?
Swimming has always been a huge part of my life. Coaching is my passion! I love to help my swimmers maximize their potential in this wonderful sport. I enjoy watching our swimmers grow and mature, gain confidence, work to achieve their goals, and make lifelong friendships along the way.

- Over 14 years of total coaching experience. I began with Ashland University as a volunteer student assistant coach before accepting a position at Wittenberg University as an Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach and then Whitman College as Assistant Coach & Recruiter Coordinator in 2010.

- When I’m not coaching, I can be found training for Triathlons, enjoying the many restaurants in Columbus, watching the Browns (hopefully winning) or being a Swimming Nerd.

Why do you love to coach?
I love coaching, because I enjoy passing on the knowledge I have gained and watching the athletes I coach reach their goals.

- Third year as the Platinum head coach & Gold assistant coach with the Ohio State Swim Club
- Seven years of total coaching experience. First starting with the Gahanna YMCA for four years (2012-2016) in charge of age group. His swimmers broke over 30 team records in addition to getting overall age group high point and league champion awards.
- Lead age group coach at New Albany Aquatic Club for the 2016-17 season. His swimmers broke seven individual team records in addition to being Junior Olympic champions and multiple top age group swimmers in Ohio.

- Swam for five different Olympic level coaches in addition to training with multiple world record holders and Olympians from the United State and other countries.
- Competed in US Open, USA nationals, and USA open water nationals.
- Born in Washington DC. Lives in Gahanna with his cat, Kitty Smalls.
- I stumbled into swimming when I was 10 years old, and I was terrible. I was king of the pity clap. However, I stuck with it and through focus, determination, and excellent coaching, I became one of the best distance freestylers on the east coast.

- Fifth year with the Ohio State Swim Club.
- Over 10 years total coaching experience with OSSC, the Dublin Community Swim Team (DCST), and Dublin Dolphins Summer Swim Team. Coached many state and zone level qualifiers as a coach with both OSSC and the Dublin Sea Dragons.
- Head coach for the Dublin Dolphins summer league team.

- When I’m not coaching, I can be found training for my next Ironman Triathlon, rock-climbing, mountain biking and/or volunteering with the Central Ohio Mountain Bike Organization (COMBO), and very likely planning my family’s next cross-country travel adventure.
- My wife, Trudy, and I have two children, Lucia and Julian, both of whom are age-group swimmers with the OSSC.
- Also serves as the Ohio Swimming Assistant Coach Chair.
Why do you love to coach?
I was a swim-team kid when I was growing up and I began coaching when my own children became old enough to join a team. I didn’t know at the time how fulfilling it would be to re-enter the sport as a coach/mentor/leader and to help all kids realize their athletic potential. It’s very rewarding and a lot of fun to help swimmers achieve their goals and find their success. Also, I can’t seem to stay away from water!

Coaching Experience:
- This is Sam's sixth season with the OSSC! She began her coaching career at the OSSC as an assistant coach to the Platinum group during the 2014-15 season. She is excited to see what her fourth season as the Silver Head Coach will bring! She has also assisted with the Gold and Platinum groups in past seasons.

Sam retired from competitive swimming in 2016. She narrowly missed qualifying for the 2016 Canadian Olympic Team. She is a 2012 Olympian who placed fourth in the 800 free relay. You can read more about her Olympic swimming career here and these SwimSwam articles are great.
Why do you love to coach?
It is amazing to witness and have a part in an athlete’s journey with swimming. I have gained so much from the sport, and it is my goal to help my swimmers have an equally fulfilling experience!

- 1st year as the Head Coach of the OSSC Bronze group after serving as an assistant coach for the Novice and Bronze groups last season. Also an assistant Gold coach this season (2018-).
- Over 20 years of total coaching experience (summer rec teams, country club teams, high school, club). Jodi began her coaching career in high school at a local city pool in the Cleveland area where she coached for several years. Once graduating from college, she coached a club and high school team and then moved to Columbus where she has coached summer rec teams in Westerville and Delaware, was an assistant for one season with WAC, and also was the head varsity coach for Westerville Central and Olentangy Liberty. This past summer, she was a part of the Lakes Golf & Country Club coaching staff.

- Lives in Lewis Center with her husband, Ken, her 11-year-old son, Matthew (who is in our Gold training group), 9-year-old daughter, Natalie (who is in our silver training group), and 7 year old son, Tyler (who is in our Bronze training group).
- A 6th grade science teacher at Hyatts Middle School in the Olentangy School district.
- When not at the pool you most likely could find her on a soccer field as all 3 of her children also play travel soccer.
Why do you love to coach?
Being able to see swimmers giving their best and then reaching their goals as a result of their effort at practices is so gratifying. It is so rewarding to be a part of the beginning of young swimmers' journeys because I get to see how they continue to progress. Finally, the OSSC staff are the best of the best and I am so fortunate to be able to work and learn alongside all of them.

Why do you love to coach?
I coach because I love being around kids and passing along my love for the sport of swimming. Since working with the Novice group, I’ve found that I love going back to the bare basics of the sport and giving them fun twists!

Why do you love to coach?
Coaching is such a rewarding experience. Getting to see swimmers make their dreams come true not just in the pool but in life brings me tremendous joy. Being a coach with the Ohio State Swim Club allows me to not only work with an incredible coaching staff and swimmers every day, but it also gives me the chance to give back to a team that is responsible for creating the person I am today.

- Over 20 years of total coaching experience. Prior to joining the OSSC coaching staff, Erin spent 7 years as a head level coach with the Robert K. Fox Family YMCA (LYST) in Lancaster, Ohio. He was directly involved in the coaching of multiple swimmers who have attained Olympic Trials, U.S. Open, Junior National, YMCA National, OHSAA State, Central Zone, Ohio JO and YMCA Zone time standards.

- Erin has attained his ASCA Level 2 coaching certification and is currently enrolled in the ASCA Level 3 Physiology School.
- He is a successful financial professional with over 20 years of experience in the investment industry, helping individuals and families attain long term financial goals.
- Erin lives in Lancaster, Ohio with his wife Suzanne and their two children, Grace (OSSC Senior Group) and Addyson (OSSC Gold Group).
Why do you love to coach?
I have always been passionate about coaching and mentoring youth through sports. While achieving a certain time standard might be viewed as a measure of success by an athlete, it is not necessarily the same for a coach. Ultimately, if an athlete carries on a love for swimming as an adult and I have been able to demonstrate and instill in them the attributes of teamwork, perseverance, and hard work, I’ve been successful.

Since I can remember, swimming has always been such an important part of my life. Coaching gives me an opportunity to give back to the sport that made who I am today. All of my coaches in the past have made such a huge impact on my life and I want to be that person for someone else.

Why do you love to Coach?

Why do you love to coach?
I used to be very shy and tried many different sports and activities before I found my place in the swimming world! It was a hard adjustment at first considering that I used to plug my nose ALL the time but eventually I got over that and became good enough to walk onto the A relays of my high school team! I’m a very empathetic person, I love to use my knowledge and passion for swimming and teaching to help others be comfortable and reach goals!

Why do you love to coach?
I enjoy partnering with young athletes to help them achieve their goals. Watching them learn and grow throughout the season is amazing. I have also learned so much over the years and feel that I offer a unique perspective and have a keen eye for detail that can aide in a young athlete’s journey.

Why do you love to coach?
I coach because of the kids. Seeing them grow and advance is an amazing experience. I love getting to know the kids and seeing their personalities emerge as they get older. I also coach because I love the sport. Coaching keeps me sane and gives me something to think about other than pharmacy!
