Upon registration with our club you acknowledge understanding of the following concerning your membership with DDAC - Legacy Aquatics

DDAC does not waive dues for unforeseen circumstances including facility closure or unexpected practice cancellation

Invoices:

  • Accounts are invoiced on the 1st of each month. 
  • All account charges and payments may be viewed by the family at any time during the month by logging into your account. It is the family's responsibility to review the account balances for accuracy. Discrepancies should be brought to the treasurer's attention within 15 days of posting. 
  • No paper statements will be sent. 

Registration:

  • A $50 registration fee will be charged at the beginning of Short Course and is non-refundable. 
  • A member's account must be in good standing before a member may register for next season.
  • Unless other arrangements have been made in advance with the Treasurer, unpaid balances will be charged at the time of registration.
  • Any member joining the program after September 1 shall have that month's training fees prorated to the nearest half month, i.e. joins before the 15th = full month, after the 15th = half month.

USA Swim Registration: 

  • USA Swimming and Legacy - DDAC requires all competitive team members to have an active USA Swimming registration.
  • USA Swimming charges a $80 per swimmer registration fee for the period from September of this year - December of the the following year.
  • New registration requires all members to visit the USA Swimming website to register and pay this fee. This must be done prior to registration with our team. We will provide you with a link specific to our team so you are correctly linked to our team.
  • New members who are currently registered with USA Swimmer as unattached or as a member of another team are responsible for transferring their membership and any fees associated with that transfer. 

Training Fees:

  • Members will be invoiced on the 1st of each month. For example, training fees for September will be invoiced on September 1st
  • Families who have multiple swimmers will get waived monthly swim dues waived for their 3rd swimmer and beyond. The waived fees will apply to the least expensive training fees. 
  • The discount only applies to training fees. It does not apply to the registration fee, USA Swimming registration fee, meet entry fees, or any other costs incurred as part of membership and participation in DDAC - Legacy Aquatics. 

Meet Entry Fees:

  • Once the meet entry report has been submitted to the host team, meet fees are non-refundable. *Emergency situations will be reviewed and determined by the head coach, treasurer, and president on a case by case basis.
  • Some meets will be held at the DD Pool that will be just a flat fee, and others will be hosted by other teams at other pools around the Portland area who charge at their own discretion. Each hosting team will send information that we will post in our Events section of our website. The info will outline the hosting teams fees. You can expect to see the following charges for meets on your invoice the following month after the meet. 
    • Individual Event Fees / Will look like this on your invoice: Your Swimmers Name - Name of Meet (4I) (the number indicates how many races entered, I = individual race)
    • Surcharge or Facility Fee 

Volunteer Commitment:

  • Members who do not meet their volunteer commitment as outlined in the volunteer policy will be assessed a $10 per hour not completed.
  • Penalties for failure to meet the volunteer commitment will be invoiced at the end of the season or upon member termination, whichever comes first.
  • Hours can be completed by the athlete(s), family, or friends.
  • Hours must be submitted using the online form located on this website and must be submitted 3 weeks prior to the completion of the season to allow time for calculation for the entire team.
  • Hour Requirements are as follows and are per swimmer: 
    Bronze - 3 hours 
    Silver - 5 hours
    Gold - 7 hours
    Senior - 10 hours. 
  • The annual volunteer obligation may be changed by vote of the DDAC board once each year. Examples of volunteering include, but are not limited to: Timing at home and away meet, becoming a team Official, Assisting with available volunteer opportunities provided at home meet, being a Pool Parent and assisting during practice times, or translation services.

Payments:

  • Payments may be made via ACH, credit card, check, or money order.
  • Members who are set up for automatic payments via ACH or credit card will have their invoiced amount withdrawn/charged on the same day the account is invoiced (the 1st of each month).
  • All payments via credit card will be subject to a 3% convenience fee to cover the credit card processing fee charged by the bank.
  • Members paying by check must mail their payment to: DDAC - PO BOX 16542 Portland OR 97292
  • Invoiced amounts unpaid by the 20th of the month will be subject to a $10 late fee. No exceptions.
  • NSF check and returned ACH / credit card charges will be subject to a $15 penalty from DDAC, plus bank charges, which may include fees for each time the bank tries to process the returned payment.

Overdue Accounts & Late Fees: 

  • $10 will be assessed on the 20th of the month by midnight if your account exceeds a $10 balance. 
  • ​Members with balances greater than 60 days overdue will be ineligible to train with the team, attend team-sponsored activities, or enter meets until the account is brought current. 
  • Members with balances greater than 90 days overdue will have their membership privileges terminated. 

Travel Expenses:

  • Please refer to the Travel Policy for details on how meet travel expenses are calculated and billed for meets designated "team travel".
  • DDAC may assess a surcharge on meets that are not designated as "team travel" in order to offset coaches' travel expenses. The surcharge will be posted alongside the meet entry fees when the meet is posted

Voluntary Termination or Suspension of Membership: 

  • Termination or suspension of membership must be requested in writing and sent to the treasurer and Head Coach.
  • No verbal termination or suspension of membership will be accepted. 

Scotsman Dues:

  • For David Douglas High School Swimmers enrolled in another high school sport/activity or Senior swimmers only wanting to participate in AM practices.
