WELCOME TO THE NEWPORT SWIM TEAM!

Our club is an 11-month competitive swim team offering an experienced coaching staff for ages 6-18. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability. NST is a board run organization that is built upon the commitment, support and particpation of the Board, Coaches, swimmers, parents/guardians and the community.  

The team has been active in the Newport community for over 50 years!

A swimmer must attend a tryout before registering for the team.  To inquire or schedule a tryout [email protected]. If you have attended a tryout and have a group assisignment please carry on with the registration below.   

Please review everything listed under the Team Information tab before registered. 

There are two registrations (NST & USA Swimming) a swimmer needs to be on the team. How to register:

  • For Newport Swim Team please visit Registration for NST.
  • For USA Swimming create a PARENT account by visiting USA Swimming Registration. (Once you create an account, you will use it for future registrations/changes)
    • Then register swimmer for USA Swimming by visiting NST for USA Registration. 
    • The type of registration will differ depending on the competition level of the swimmer. 

    • Premium - Unrestricted Membership - $92 

      Flex - Restricted to 12 and Under - No more than two sanctioned meets - $30  

      Outreach - Unrestricted Discounted Membership for Qualified athletes (click here for Criteria) -  ($5 to USA Swimming)  

      Seasonal  - Restricted to meets at or below the LSC Championships - $50

Starting on September 1, 2024, there will only be one option called Seasonal Membership for the 2025 membership year, which will be valid for 150 days from the date of registration. Members are only allowed one seasonal membership in the same membership year.

Members can upgrade at anytime during the same membership year, prior to September 1 of that year. 

Volunteering

The team is a parent-run non-profit. All families are required to contribute 20 hours of volunteer services per season (mid-Sept thru mid-August). Families are required to keep track of their own hours and submit that info to the Volunteer Service Coordinator [email protected]. Please review the Volunteer Service Obligation.
