Swim-a-thon is November 16th, 10:00-noon. Volunteer jobs are posted and they all need to be filled. This is such a fun event!
Swimmers will have 2 weeks after the swim-a-thon to collect the last of their pledges/donations. Last day to turn funds in will be Dec 3.
Albany Turkey Dive Meet Summary by John
NST COMPETES IN ALBANY SWIM MEET 11/4/24
Six (6) members of the Newport Swim Team took part in the Nov 2 & 3 AAA Turkey Dive Invite in Albany. Over 200 Oregon swimmers took part, representing 11 swim teams, no team scores where kept. NST swimmers competed in 31 races over the weekend, recording 18 Personal Best times. Individually:
Ava Wienert (8) had a great 2 days of swimming, recording PR’s in all 4 of her races, along 2 5th and 2 6th placings in the 8 & Under Girls Division.
Jacob Hoffman (13) recorded 5 PR’s out of his 6 races and took a 6th in the 200 Breaststroke and 2 9ths in the 50 and 100 Free.
Ashlyn Conrad (13) was 3/3 in the PR department with a best placing of 7th in the 200 backstroke.
Charlotte Weinert (9) raced to 4 PR’s out of her 5 total races in the girls 9-10 division. Her best showings were a 8th in the 100 Free and 11th in the 50 Free.
Olive Mitchell (8) had a number of outstanding swims, she recorded 2 PR’s and took home 3 2nd place ribbons in the 50 back, 50 Breast and 50 Free.
Gwynn Postlewait (15) Finished in the top 5 in all three of her races, with a 3rd in the 100 Back, 4th in the 200 IM and 5th in the 100 Butterfly.
