WHO WE ARE:

The Piranhas Swimming Team was established in Rohnert Park in 1983. Since 1992, it has been operated by a non-profit organization known as Rohnert Park Swim Club-Piranhas. With over 35 years of experience, Piranhas Swim Club is a premier aquatic program in the North Bay.

We offer learn-to-swim programs and top-notch coaching for elementary through high school age groups. We pride ourselves on low swimmer-to-coach ratios to ensure each swimmer excels in and out of the water. We focus on creating a supportive, team-based environment where swimmers of all levels feel at home.

Our training takes place at the Sonoma State University Pool (SSU) in Rohnert Park, and we compete year-round in Sonoma County and beyond.  The SSU pool temperature is maintained between 78 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, which ensures comfortable swimming temperatures.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

The primary purpose of Piranhas Swim Club is to create and maintain an enjoyable and productive competitive swimming environment. This environment promotes healthy life habits, physical fitness, academic success, sportsmanship, respect for others, individual integrity, and a positive team atmosphere. Piranhas Swim Club is committed to excellence and dedicated to developing an efficient, ever-expanding organization. The primary goal is to train a nationally recognized aquatics program capable of raising superior athletes and citizens.

What we do to accomplish our mission:

  • Piranhas Swim Club provides facilities, training, and encouragement for increased proficiency in safe water sports, in general, and competitive swimming, in particular. Our non-profit organization supports local youth residing within a reasonable commuting distance from the training facility of Piranhas Swim Club. The team provides the appropriate level of funding necessary to further the swim program for all members of Piranhas Swim Club. The team schedules organizes and holds swim meets and actively participates in the affairs of USA Swimming and Pacific Swimming of the Western zone. Piranhas Swim Club promotes a healthy lifestyle and provides opportunities for athletic achievements and academic success. The club encourages supportive interaction among children and is committed to serving its local community with a positive impact for years.
