WELCOME TO PIRANHA SWIMMING

The Piranha Swimming Team was established in the city of Rohnert Park in 1983, and since 1992 it has been operated by a non-profit organization known as Rohnert Park Swim Club. Over the years, from generation to generation, the Piranhas nurtured the swimming skills of a multitude of inspiring athletes, and there is no doubt that the Team's existence is deeply intertwined with the life of our community and the life of many local families.

We genuinely believe that the Piranha Swimming Team's accomplishments and recognition among Rohnert Park residents are the results of the hard work of dedicated, knowledgeable coaches, resilient, committed, capable athletes, and their enthusiastic, supportive parents, all of whom share lifelong love for swimming.

Offering more than 35 years of experience, Piranha Swimming is a premiere aquatic program in the North Bay that provides the finest coaching for elementary through high school age groups. We teach lifelong skills to our local youth while striving to promote a supportive, team-building atmosphere for swimmers of all levels.

We train locally in Rohnert Park and compete all year in Sonoma County and beyond, annually traveling out of state for various high-level competitions. We are proud of our low swimmer-to-coach ratios that allow us to ensure each swimmer receives individual attention to produce the highest results in and out of the water.

While we pride ourselves on having nationally-ranked swimmers, it is our unique swimming community and camaraderie among all levels of our swimmers that set Piranha Swimming apart. Not only do our loyal youth exercise their bodies and improve their minds, and get an opportunity to compete in safe and engaging swim meets for a nationally accredited swimming team, but they also:

  • learn lifelong swimming and social skills;
  • build wonderful, strong friendships;
  • practice self-discipline, perseverance, and a great work ethic;
  • gain firsthand knowledge about the importance of teamwork and kind peer support;
  • develop a love for the sport and compassion for their local community;
  • and so much more!

          Despite the many challenges that any swim club operated by volunteering parents frequently faces, the Piranha Swimming Team is going strong and will continue teaching local children how to swim and foster young competitive swimmers from our close-knit community for many years to come.
