Chinook Aquatic Club has been operating since 1965. We hold great pride in hiring coaches that are positive, well-experienced, and motivational towards encouraging swimmers to reach their highest potentials based on their individual goals.

Overview: Chinook Aquatic Club has been an established and strong running club in the Pacific Northwest Swimming organization since its inception of 1965. Chinook Aquatic Club attracts swimmers of all ages across the Greater Seattle Area and operates in pools within the Bellevue and Renton locations of operation.
We are presently looking for a Renton Site Age Group Coach to head up and lead our age group teams and encourage our swimmers and members to focus and embrace on the mission and vision of our club.

Vision: “To foster high levels of motivation and inspire our swimmers to be the best versions of themselves in and out of swimming.”
What Type of Coach is Chinook Looking For: Chinook Aquatic Club is in search of a Senior Age Group Coach that embraces and excels in leadership, both creating a positive environment for our club and influencing our swimmers to strive for their goals and aspirations. The Age Group Coach will be dedicated towards promoting the highest level of refinement, development, and execution of successful swimming such that Chinook swimmers are continuously improving their skillset to compete in local and regional meets. Practice sets will reflect reps that promote challenge as well as body conscious endurance that promotes longevity in a swimmer’s career across the age groups of 7-13 years old. This position will require the applicant to be knowledgeable in not only swim skills, but will require expertise in dryland workout regimes as well as knowing the best avenues to help promote our swimmers in meeting silver and gold standards.
Character Skillset of the Age Group Coach: - A great communicator and one that strives to have a cohesive team of coaches on the same path to develop swimmer talent. - An organized and ambitious coach who is striving towards excellence in their group. The Age Coach should learn how best to get the best from each swimmer individually. - To know a swimmer’s profile – which strokes are they best at, how best to motivate and inspire a swimmer, and how/when to push swimmers to their highest potential. - An empath who works closely with swimmers – what motivates them in this sport, what goals do they have, why is swimming important to them.
Experience in the high school swim programs as well as collegiate. The Age Coach should provide key tips on how best to promote a swimmer towards their goals whether they are meet competitive or a leader in the pool at practice. Promote an exciting and competitive environment that consistently brings excellence to swimmers and promotes trust from members through quality coaching and vision for the program.
Technical Skillset of the Age Group Coach: - 3-4 years of experience of leading a swim team to higher level divisions in league. - 3-4 years of experience leading a strong and skilled coaching staff. - Experience in attracting and retaining age group swimmers. 3-4 years of experience teaching swim lessons is a plus. - Experience swimming for a swim team or high school team, required. - All USA Swimming Certifications and lifeguard certifications are required for employment at an age group coach level.
