Chinook Aquatic Club & Safe Sport
Chinook Aquatic Club is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its swimmers. USA Swimming has made enhancements to its Safe Sport policy and education requirements as a part of its continued commitment to safeguarding our athletes. USA Swimming created the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) to set a baseline for acceptable safety standards that limit one-on-one interactions between adults and minor athletes.
Full implementation of the Safe Sport Program involves six key components:
- Policies and Guidelines
- Screening and Selection
- Training and Education
- Monitoring and Supervision
- Recognizing, Responding, and Reporting
- Grassroots Engagement and Feedback
MAAPP applies to:
- All USA Swimming non-athlete members and adult athlete members
- Participating non-members (e.g., meet marshals, meet computer operators, etc.)
- LSC and club adult staff and board members
- Any other adult authorized to have regular contact with or authority over minor athletes
