IST Swimmers compete at 14&U Zones in Maui

Congratulations to Christina Bradley, Christopher Harig, Marius Rakickas and Albert Weng for competing at the Western Zone 14&U Age Group Championship meet in Maui last week.  Coach John was the trip manager for the team while in Maui. The weather was a very hot and humid during the meet. Pacific Northwest Swimming finished in 3^rd place behind Pacific and Colorado.  There were a total of the 17 LSC’s that participated in the Western Zone meet.  Christina placed 4^th in the 13-14 400 Free and 200 Free.  Chris finished 12^th in the 400 IM and 200 IM and finished 16^th in the 200 Breast. Marius finished 9^th in the 400 IM and 15^th in the 100 Breast.

This year athletes had a chance to participate in the Open Water race on Sunday after the meet.  For many of the swimmers this was their first opportunity to participate in an open water race.  The 12&U’s participated in 1K race and the 13-14’s competed in a 3K race.
