2022 MET-SEAL Cannonball Classic Meet Recap

2022 MET-SEAL CANNONBALL CLASSIC

On the weekend of June 11th-12th, IST athletes and coaches traveled to the King County Aquatic Center for the 2022 Cannonball Classic. This competition was ISTs third meet of the 2022 LC season and our second competition at KCAC this Summer.

IST was well-represented at this competition with 147 athletes attending! Since this was ISTs third LC meet of the season, most athletes in attendance were able to excel with their familiarity of the course and expand on skills/strategies practiced at our first two LC competitions. 

Charles Lee broke the Male 15-16 50 Butterfly record with a time of 26.83! The previous record was set by Louis J. Gasson in 2017 with a time of 27.61. Louis set this record at the same meet. 

The team continues to show lots of Sockeye Spirit! IST athletes prioritized sitting together on deck and enjoyed time with teammates. On Saturday all IST athletes were in the same session. This created team building opportunities for athletes of all ages to cheer each other on and assist with meet management. IST once again was one of the most engaged teams at the competition! 

IST athletes achieved 214 best times, swam 159 first time events, and dropped a total of 1,134 seconds!
