2023 FALL DIVISIONALS

On December 2nd-3rd, 171 IST athletes and Coaches traveled to King County Aquatic Center for the 2023 Fall Divisionals Championship.

As this was a championship meet, the focus for each athlete was to head into the weekend feeling loose, relaxed, and confident. The only goal for each and every swim was to have fun. No worrying about cut times, no anxiety about a stroke correction, no tears or frustration because of a bad start or missed turn. No matter what the outcome of each race, the goal was for every athlete to enjoy their experience. Cheer for their teammates, support each other, swim fast, and have fun!

For the 10&U athletes this meet was set up as a pentathlon where each swimmer competed in five events. Pentathlon meets are well suited for our teams’ unique strengths as each athlete competes in each stroke and the individual medley.

Athletes aged 11&O had the opportunity to pick their choice of six events as this was a championship meet. With a season's worth of skill work, several competitions worth of experience and adjustments, each athlete was well prepared to excel in the championship environment.

The combined effort, excitement, and excellence of every IST athlete buoyed the team to a 3rd place finish at Fall Divisionals with a team total of 128 points!
