Head Coach Update- Stefan Bill

Dear Piedmont Swim Team Swimmers and Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you have all enjoyed a fun and restful holiday break and had some time to relax away from the pool.

2025 was a wonderful year for PST swimmers and coaches. We had the pleasure of witnessing remarkable growth among our athletes, resulting in a record number of Age Group Championship and Sectional qualifiers. You can view highlights from our meets and social events—such as the Swim-A-Thon and Club Championships—on our Instagram page.

Our coaching staff and I are incredibly grateful not only for the dedication our athletes show day in and day out, but also for the parent and board support we have received throughout 2025. Thank you so much for all you do for your swimmers and for the PST community.

As we look ahead to 2026, we, the coaching staff, are excited about the fun events ahead, including the Senior Travel Meet to Clovis in February, our photo day, the Piranha Party, and—most importantly—the most exciting swim meet of the season, PST’s Club Championships in May. You can view our meet and event schedule here and on our website.

There is still one major unknown for all of us: the opening of the Piedmont Pool. At some point—hopefully in 2026—it will happen, and that will likely be the last time we, as a team, will have to adjust practice times and locations. In the meantime, we will work tirelessly to support our swimmers as they prepare for meets, help them improve in and out of the water, and continue to foster an inviting, friendly, and supportive environment for swimmers and families.

To all our swimmers: I encourage you to set one or two simple swimming goals for 2026—whether it’s improving your streamlines, becoming more consistent in practice, or aiming for a specific time standard. Small, steady steps add up.

Thank you again for making 2025 such a memorable year for the Piedmont Swim Team. I’m grateful to lead this team and excited about everything we’ll accomplish together in the year ahead.

Wishing you and your families a healthy, happy, and successful 2026—both in and out of the pool.

Go PST!

Practice and Drop Off Etiquitte for Parents

The Board and Coaches welcome parents on deck during practices. That said, during practice our coaches need to give 100% of their attention to our swimmers. To that end we ask that parents remain in the designated viewing areas while on deck as follows:

Montclair Swim Club: the chairs along the fencing and the highest upper deck

Emeryville:  the tables on the apartment side of the pool

Mills/Northeastern: the tables at the very front and the tables at the very back

A map of those areas can be found in the team handbook.

Piedmont Swim Team - 25/26 Swim Season - Team Handbook

If you have questions, or need to check in with a coach please do so by scheduling a 1:1 meeting (link below)

Mills at Northeastern:

Per our agreement with Mills at Northeastern University, PST families are not to use the staff/student parking lot and drop-off and pick-up lanes in front of the pool AT ALL. The parking lot and driveway must be accessible to staff and students at all times.

You may park, drop off, and pick up along the street or in the front parking lot; turn right immediately after the security gate.

ECCL:

Please only park in designated parking spaces. Do not stop or park in red zones or any other place that is not a designated parking spot. Do not double park.

If spots near the pool are unavailable, there is plenty of parking on San Pablo Ave. and Doyle St. in the evenings.

Please review the below screenshots for parking on San Pablo Ave & Doyle St. All areas with the red lines are red zones/no parking zones. The green box is a drop off/pick up zone, which should be used as such and not for parking.

Montclair Swim Club:

PARKING at Montclair Swim Club: Do not park in the STAFF ONLY spaces. These 3 spaces between the entrance and the bike rack are only for Staff and Repair & Maintenance.

PLEASE park along Thornhill Drive only and walk your child into the pool area.

PLEASE refrain from stopping in the street on Woodhaven Way or near the Staff only parking area - even for drop-offs or pick-ups.
