Volunteering at Swim Meets

Parent involvement is an essential part of being on a competitive swim team. Without parent participation, we couldn’t run swim practices, host swim meets to stay financially sound, and our swimmers would never be able to compete! Our swimmers work many hours during the week in preparation for competitions, so we want to make sure we are doing the best job we can in helping them in and out of the pool.

Please read our Service Hour Policy very carefully to get a good understanding of parent requirements. We appreciate all our families' help to support our wonderful swimmers by volunteering with PST.

Here are some quick facts regarding volunteering at meets:

  1. Please do not sign your swimmer up to attend a meet if you cannot volunteer. All open jobs will be assigned and we will start with those families who have registered swimmers

  2. Whether your swimmer attends the meet or not (irrespective of the circumstance), their registration impacts the number of volunteers we need. If you cannot attend to complete a job you signed up for or were assigned, it is your responsibility to find a replacement and alert the Job Sign-Up Coordinator. There is a $100 No Show Fee.

  3. Please note that even if you have completed all your service hours for the year, you may still be assigned a job (when you have a swimmer registered) if PST still needs jobs filled.

  4. All meet volunteers need to check-in with the Volunteer Coordinator upon arrival at the meet so they can be marked off and get credit for the job completed.

  5. Volunteer Coordinators (Saturday and Sunday) must read the volunteer coordinator job instructions carefully and be onsite the entire timeframe to receive credit.
