Another Winning Season!

Congratulations to our ERSC head coach and head coach of the Kingfish Swim Club, Anise Foreman, for leading the Kingfish Swim Club to a second undefeated Division A PMSL season!!!

As Head Coach for Kingfish Swim Club, coach Anise has worked relentlessly with her own team: coach Micah, coach Chris and coach Kiara and with Kingfish swimmers, many of whom are ERSC year round athletes, to achieve another perfect score season (5-0), and solidify the dominance of Kingfish in the Prince Mount Summer League.

After years fighting hard to ascend from Division F to Division A, last year KSC put together the winning team needed to reach the top of the league. The team was aware of Anise´s talent both as a past star swimmer and as a young and energetic coach so she was recruited as assistant coach for the very important challenge of defeating the seven-year champion Theresa Banks.

This year, as head coach Anise was able to capitalize on the work and knowledge gained last year and continued to use some of her innovative as well as proven techniques to improve swimmers´ times in all events. From the biggest issues to the minor details, she dedicated countless hours and effort to planning and executing sessions with sets refining stroke form, working on endurance, perfecting starts and turns, buffing confidence and mental toughness and making each practice a fun-filled event. Coach Anise loves her swimmers and her swimmers love coach Anise (just don’t ask them right after they finish one of her killer sets with crazy intervals). Her techniques work and the result has been magnificent inside and out of the pool.

From beginning to advanced swimmers, points for the team began to pile up since meet #1 and week after week the team carried the day, even in another close victory against the runner up, Takoma Park. During the season each kid’s training is put to the test and every point counts. As the excitement and anticipation were building up again, coach Anise, along with the rest of her coaching team, have once more remained calm, vigilant and goal oriented, pushing persistently until the final match-up against TB.

It was another clear and memorable victory. Many personal and pool records were broken this season while other kids experienced for the first time the pressures and thrill of higher-level competition. This new success was a team effort brilliantly conducted by our great coach Anise. Congratulations coach Anise, you are our idol!!!
