Pool Rules

Lifeguards are the authority on pool rules. Failure to comply with a lifeguard’s request can result in the removal of the swimmer from the pool area. Other consequences may also be instituted where appropriate.

  • No swimming in the main pool without a lifeguard on duty.
  • Distracting the attention of a lifeguard is dangerous and prohibited. Please do not talk to guards when they are on the stands.
  • Do not call for help unless you need it. A false alarm can result in time out of the pool for the first offense.
  • No patrons allowed on the lifeguard stands.
  • Adult supervision is required for all non-swimmers and children under ten years of age - no exceptions.
  • Non-swimmers must stay in the shallow end, or stay in water that is no deeper than armpit level.
  • A supervising adult must remain within arm's length of a young non-swimmer.
  • In order to swim in the deep end, swimmers must pass the swimming test. If they fail, the swimmer must wait 24 hours before trying another test.
