The Coon Rapids and Totino-Grace Boys Swim and Dive season starts in just a few days, with our first practice on 11/27 at 5:30! The boys are ready to improve their swimming and diving and nurture a team culture built of values of inclusivity, hard work, commitment, and respect. We have a lot of new athletes from both schools this year. Our new and returning athletes are excited for a great season and look forward to all the support of their families and community! #FLOCK

Coon Rapids earned many top finishes at the Elk River JV Championship meet on Saturday. This bodes well for the future of the team! Strong athletes, many of whom are brand new to the team this year earned a number of ribbons. Junior Rebekah Witzke finishes 5th overall at the JV Conference meet! This is Rebekah's first year diving, which is an impressive start to her diving career. She originally joined the team as a swimmer, but after trying diving at practice she instantly took to the sport. We look forward to seeing her successes in the coming year!

Athletes headed to JV Champs on October 28th have entered into taper, many are hoping to drop the time they need to make it to the section meet. Megan Schultze from Coon Rapids, Minnesota has announced her verbal commitment to Rice University for 2021-22, joining Sydney Morgan in the class of 2025. A rising junior at Coon Rapids High School, Schultze is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American who specializes in breaststroke and butterfly. “I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Rice University! Megan Schultze was awarded All-State honors at the Minnesota Swimming and Diving Coaches' Association banquet on Friday, May 3rd. Her 4th place finish in the 100 breaststroke and 5th place finish in the 100 butterfly at Class AA State made her the first Coon Rapids swimmer to earn All-State honors since Elizabeth Starke in 2007.

Theresa Tran and Andrew Truong, Senior Captains for the girls' and boys' teams this past season, have earned NISCA Academic All-American honors.  Over 342,294 students are involved in aquatics at the high school level in over 16,432 programs for boys’ and girls’. Approximately 2% of these students are recognized as high school All Americans. In order to be eligible, an athlete in their senior year must maintain a 3.75 GPA and letter in swimming or diving. Congrats to both for a wonderful achievement!

Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the Coon Rapids boys' and Totino-Grace boys' swimming and diving teams will be a cooperatively sponsored program. This means boys from both Coon Rapids and Totino-Grace will be competing as one team. We look forward to this opportunity as we start a new chapter in our boys' team history!
