2025 WHO Updates
Welcome Coach Annie

Annie Marinchak is returning to WHO for the 2025 season. She will coach our Spring and Fall Clinics as well as our April-May practices. This is Annie’s second season coaching at Walnut Heights and she could not be more excited. She has been swimming rec since she was 5 years old and has been a swim coach for 14 years - including Dewing Park, Walnut Heights in 2018, and four years at Springbrook in Lafayette as a senior assistant coach. Annie swam all four years on varsity at Las Lomas High School. Her main events were 200 IM and 100 Fly. Outside of swim, Annie is a personal trainer and CrossFit coach and is looking forward to coming back to WHO! Read the bios of all our 2025 WHO coaches.

Spring Clinic is March 3-27
Time to dust off the cobwebs! Our Spring Clinic will focus on specific and proper stroke technique including head positioning, side breathing, starts, open / flip turns, and more. We will focus on one stroke each day. This clinic is not focused on conditioning. Coach Annie will run the Spring Clinic with junior coaches in the water to help our younger swimmers. The practice schedule is March 3-27 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons.

Open Club Board Positions
The Walnut Heights Swim Club board has approximately 5 board meetings per year to collaborate and plan needed activities for the pool and the swim team. Benefits include an opportunity to give back, a discount on WHSC membership dues ($315 annual fee) OR a free swimmer on swim team, and this serves as your swim team season and spirit job.
The Membership Chair oversees all aspects of membership management at the swim club. This role is responsible for responding to new membership inquiries, managing buy/sell of memberships and key exchanges, and maintaining accurate records of all members. During swim team registration (March, April & May) communicate closely with the WHO Board to reconcile their team membership with the WHSC membership. This role requires approximately 3 hours per week during the summer, with an increased time of 10 hours per week during membership registration (April & May). The rest of the year is 0-15 minutes per week. The outgoing membership chair is Stacy Keller at [email protected]
The Maintenance Chair oversees the maintenance of the pool by managing the contracting companies, including the pool service, gardener and any contractors hired for repairs. Members contact the Chair to report issues, and the Chair evaluates and determines who to call and follow up to fix the issue. The maintenance chair is also responsible for determining the activities for and facilitating opening and closing work parties. The outgoing Maintenance Chair is Lucy Eger, at [email protected].
