SURF Swim Season At-a-Glance

WHO

Swimmers: All registered members of Bloomfield Hills Swim and Tennis Club, ages 4-18, are eligible to join the BHSAT Swim Team.

Parents: BHSAT Swim Team, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) parent-run organization. It takes well over one thousand volunteer hours to run one season of meets and events. Each SURF Competitive Team family has a service job obligation in order to participate. Different opt-out options are available in the registration process.

Service job requirements can be found here. Each family is required to complete 12 credits (hours) PLUS a shift at A or B Finals.

The opt-out option for the 12 credits DOES NOT include the requirement to assist at A or B Finals.

***Boogieboard Team-only families do not have the service job obligation.***

WHAT

9 weeks of competitive caliber swimming for SURF members (12 weeks with spring tune-up).
- 6 weeks of swimming for Boogieboards members.
USA Swimming Certified coaching.
Swimmer skill development, daily practices, and advanced private lesson/clinic opportunities for competitive swimmers.
Competition: Six dual meets, annual community meet with Fox Hills Swim Team, mini-meets by age groups, and NSSL A & B season championship meets.
Boogieboards Team for young swimmers who are not quite ready for the SURF Competitive Team and receive more direct learning attention from the BHSAT Swim Team coaching staff.
BHSAT Swim Team spirit and social events for swimmers and families.
A regularly updated website with everything you need to know, plus smartphone access through the OnDeck app.
A guarantee from our coaches and board to provide the best and safest possible experience for our swimmers.
A commitment to continuing to build the BHSAT Swim Team as the the best local club swimming team it can be.

WHEN

Registration opens April 1st. Register by April 30th to receive a free team t-shirt.
We offer an optional Spring Tune-up the 3 weeks leading up to Memorial Day.
The summer season officially starts on the Wednesay following Memorial Day. Practices are held after school at BHSAT.
The season moves to morning practices starting the Monday following the last day of school for Bloomfield Hills Schools.
See the Schedules tab for all practice times. They are organized by age group. You will also find schedules for dual meets, finals, and social events in the same location.
The Boogieboards Team schedule is different from the SURF Competitive Team. The Boogieboards Team starts its practices after Bloomfield Hills Schools are out. Please visit the Boogieboards Team section for more information on placements, practice times, etc.

HOW

Pricing:

$225 for each swimmer. Multi-swimmer family discount is as follows:
- $10 discount for when 2 swimmers are registered.
- $30 discount for when 3 swimmers are registered
- $60 discount for when 4 swimmers are registered.
- $100 discount when 5 swimmers are registered.
$25 per family Admin Fee
$300 per family Opt-out Fee for Regular-Season Service Jobs Obligation (OPTIONAL)
- ALL FAMILIES are required to volunteer at A or B Finals. There is no opt-out option.
$75 fee per swimmer for optional pre-season tune-up (OPTIONAL)
