Competitive Swimming
At the Providence Wellness Center (PWC) pool location.
(These are CMSA programs that are held during the months of September 2025- May 2026)

If you are looking to increase your competitive swimming skills you have come to the right place. We work through CMSA to offer you two different School Year competitive swim programs to choose from. (1) "Pre-Competitive" groups are designed for swimmers who desire to train and are considering participation in local swim meets. (2.) The "Competitive" groups are for those who want to train and will compete in most local USA swim meets with CMSA. "Pre-Competitive" Teams
The Pre-Competitive programs are designed for individuals "with some previous Swim Team or Swim School experience" who desire to train for future participation in competitive swim meets with CMSA. The Pre-Competitive Team members are eligible to participate in two "USA Swimming" local swim meets with CMSA during the months of (September-May). Previous CMSA participants will be allowed to register first before any new swimmers can be added. Individuals with no previous Swim Team or Swim School experience should look to the WMSC Summer Programs @ WMSC during June/July for instruction.
Age Group 1 (Pre-Competitive) (formerly Red group))
This class is designed for first year and intermediate level swimmers ages 6-8 and will teach the proper techniques of the 4 competitive strokes and other basic principles of competitive swimming. Students will need to be able to swim 25 yards unassisted free style. Swimmers train Two days per week on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15-5:15. Cost: $85 per month.
Age Group 2 (Pre-Competitive) (formerly White group)
This class is designed for first year and intermediate level swimmers ages 9-12 and will teach the proper techniques of the 4 competitive strokes and other basic principles of competitive swimming. Students will need to be able to swim 25 yards unassisted Free/Back/Breast/Fly. This class is designed to eventually transition swimmers into the competitive group. Swimmers train Three days per week on Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday 4:15-5:15. Cost: $85 per month.
All NEW swimmers need to contact Coach Evans at [email protected] to schedule a swimmer evaluation before registering.
Each swimmer's proper group placement (practice days/times) will be determined by Coach Evans
Additional Fees: An annual $60 CMSA Registration fee is required by Red/White participants. A monthly Fund Raising Fee of $13 for AG1 and $17 for AG2 is also required and will be billed monthly. Once registered with CMSA, parents are required to register their swimmer online with USA Swimming @ usaswimming.org. An annual $30 "Flex Athlete" registration is required or if you are doing more than 2 swim meets, a $75 USA "Premium Athlete" registration is required.
Required Equpiment: Goggles, Swim Bag and Fins.
*CMSA will be providing Quarterly Fund-Raising events to assist swimmers in paying their Fund-Raising requirements and can also be used to reduce their monthly practice fees. Fund Raising event information will be emailed to each family.
Swim Meet Fees: Are extra and can range from $25-$45 per day.
Billing is done on line through the CMSA Credit Card or Bank Draft debiting process. *(Please note that a $5 transaction fee will be applied for each monthly debiting transaction)

These programs are designed for the more experienced and committed individual ages 6-18 who will be competing in local "USA Swimming" swim meets with CMSA during the months of (September-May). Previous CMSA participants will be allowed to register first before any new swimmers can be added. Individuals with no previous Swim Team or Swim School experience should look to the WMSC Summer Programs @ WMSC during June/July for instruction.
Age Group 1
This class is designed for intermediate and advanced level swimmers ages 6-8 and will teach the proper techniques of the 4 competitive strokes and other basic principles of competitive swimming. Students will need to be able to swim 25 yards unassisted Free/Back/Breast/Fly. AG 1 trains on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15-5:15 and (Wednesday 4:15-5:15 with Coach approval.) Cost: $85 per month.
Age Group 2
This class is designed for first year and intermediate swimmers ages 9-12. (AG2 participants will need to already be able to swim 50 yards Free/Back/Breast/Fly.) Swimmers can train 3 days/week on Tues / Wed / Thurs 4:15-5:15 and (Friday 3:45-5:00 with Coach approval.) Cost: $90 per month.
Age Group 3 This class is designed for Intermediate/Advanced swimmers ages 9-12. (AG3 participants will need to already be able to swim 50 yards Free/Back/Breast/Fly.) Swimmers can train 3-4 days/week on Mon/Wed 4:15-5:30, Tues/Thurs 5:00-6:15 and Friday 3:45-5:00. Cost: $90 per month.
Blue Group This class is designed for Intermediate to Advanced swimmers ages 13-18. (Blue participants will need to have a minimum of one year competitive swim team experence and can swim 50 yards Free/Back/Breast/Fly.) Swimmers will train for their competitive High School events or their current 13-18 Age Group events. Swimmers can train 3-4 days/week on Mon/Wed 4:15-5:30, Tues/Thurs 5:00-6:15 and Friday 3:45-5:00. Cost: $90 per month.
