"Private Swim Party" Information

"Private Swim Parties" at WMSC are only available for current WMSC Pool Members. Swim Parties should only be planned for individuals who can swim. That is generally ages 8 years old & older. Private Parties are held when the facility is closed to our membership and are two hours in length. (A maximum of 75 swimmers is permitted.) Up to four certified lifeguards are provided for the safety and supervision of your party guests. *Current WMSC Pool Members who schedule Private Parties must be present during the entirety of your party's designated time.

Private Parties are available on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:30 starting May 25 and continuing through August 10, 2025.

A two-hour Private Party costs $400.  

 A $50 deposit is required and must be received within 7 days of the party booking to hold your reservation.

Your remaining balance is due when you arrive for your Pre-Party set up. (Please see a staff member upon arrival to make your final fee payment.)

Pre-Party Set Up Guidelines - Party givers may begin Pre-Party set up (no sooner than) 20 minutes before the agreed scheduled party starting time. (On Sunday evenings at 6:10).  Decorations are allowed but should be limited to allow their set up and removal to be within the 20 minutes of the scheduled party starting time and ending time. All food and decorations must be brought in through the “Side Entrance Gate”. (Not the Main Gate.) All food, decorations and other party items will be restricted to the Private Party Pavilion areas near the Volleyball Court and/or Covered Pavilion near the restrooms. No Food, decorations and other party items are permitted under the Large Pavilion area near the Big Slide. Please have any early arriving guests wait near the “Side Gate Entrance” until 6:15 and then proceed to the Main Gate Entrance at 6:15.

Post-Party Dismissal Guidelines - Party givers are required to have ended their party, dismissed their guests and removed all food, decorations and other party items from the pool and party area within 20 minutes after the agreed party scheduled ending time. Failure to correctly follow dismissal guidelines could add additional fees and make you ineligible to schedule future parties.

**A West Mobile staff member will conduct a brief “Pool Party Safety Overview” at the beginning of your party. Swimmers are not allowed to enter the pool until the “Pool Party Safety Overview” has been completed.

*Party givers can bring in their own food but are NOT permitted to bring any type of alcohol, tobacco, seafood products as well as any seeded/shelled items such as watermelon / popcorn / peanuts / sunflower seeds. 

*Party givers are permitted to provide their own music system or D.J. The music must be kept at a reasonable level and free from profanity.

*Please note that WMSC cannot store food or party items and does not provide ice.

*Party Givers shall be held responsible for any damage to WMSC and charged for the replacement cost of such items.

*WMSC is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen personal items belonging to any member
or guest while on WMSC property.

 

Severe Weather Policy and Refunds

  • Private Parties will be Cancelled and rescheduled (if possible) if we experience any “Severe Weather Warnings” prior to the scheduled starting time. Deposits will be refunded for this and any cancellations communicated to WMSC within 7 days of the scheduled date.
  • Private Parties that are shortened or cancelled because of Severe Weather conditions after they start, will be prorated at $75 / for each one-half hour that the party givers and their guests remain at the facility past the scheduled starting time even if the pool is closed for lightning.
  • To Reserve a Private Party:
  1. First, all party givers are required to read and agree to the WMSC Pool Party guidelines listed above and the "Pool Rules" before booking your party. (Click here to view "Pool Rules")
  2. Second, you will need to check the availability of your desired Private Party date by contacting Brian Evans at [email protected]  Please be sure to indicate in your email that you are requesting a Pool Member "Private Party" date.
  3. Third, once the availability of your desired date has been confirmed by Brian, it will be placed on the party calendar. Download and complete the "Private Party "Reservation Form" then mail it with your $50 deposit to the address below. Checks payable to WMSC.

*Beginning May 25, party deposits can be received at the Pool Office. 

*A minimum of three Certified Lifeguards will be on duty for all parties.  A brief safety overview by a WMSC staff member is required before swimmers may enter the pool.

WMSC “Swim Party” Rules

At WMSC, the safety of our members and their guests is our top priority. Because many of your party guests may be unfamiliar with the club's rules, a WMSC staff member is required to provide a brief “Safety Overview” of the facility rules with your group prior to the start of your party. Your assistance in gathering your guests to hear the overview and helping with the enforcement of these rules during the party would be greatly appreciated.

Non-Swimmer Rules:

All non-swimmers are restricted to the shallow end of the pool only. Non-swimmers who cannot stand up in the shallow must receive direct supervision by an adult in the water with them. Non-swimmers cannot use the big slide, the diving boards or travel beyond the (3 foot depth) of the shallow end of the pool.

*Please note that any child who is not fully potty trained must be outfitted with a specific “Swimming-Type” diaper. Non-potty-trained children with cloth or regular diapers are NOT permitted in either pool.

Baby Pool Rules: (For Private Parties Only) The Baby Pool is for non-swimmers ages (5) and under. Each non-swimmer under the age of five using the baby pool must be accompanied and strictly supervised by an adult. *(The same diaper policy as stated above applies.) No other swimmers over the age of 5 are allowed in the baby Pool.

Big Slide Rules

All users must be capable swimmers who are at least 5 years old and/or a height of 44 inches tall.

(Lifeguards or parents can measure your child’s height at the 4x4 Height Post.)

Only one person is allowed in the tower platform or riding in the flume at a time.

Riding along with small children or other individuals is not permitted.

All users must slide “Feet First”. (Lying flat and crossing your feet and arms is recommended)

Users are to start their slide only when the splash area has been cleared. The entry depth is 5 feet deep.

No “Headfirst “entry, Standing, Kneeling, Tumbling, Spinning or Stopping while riding in the flume.

All users must exit the splash area promptly after sliding. No other individuals are allowed to enter the splash area.

Flotation devices are not permitted.

The maximum individual weight is 280 lbs.

Not recommended for pregnant women or individuals with back/neck problems.

*Failure to follow “Big Slide” rules could result in injury and/or your restriction from slide usage.

Diving Board Rules:

All users must be 5 years of age or older and capable of swimming 10 feet unassisted.

High Dive users must be at least 9 years old and/or 51 inches tall.

(Lifeguards or parents can measure your child’s height at the 4x4 Height Post.)

Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time.

When the dive area is clear, divers are allowed only one bounce, should jump straight off, swim to the designated ladder, and then promptly exit the pool.

No backwards diving, sitting on the board, doing handstands or other stunts off the boards is allowed.

No other swimming or diving is allowed in the diving well area unless the diving boards are closed for diving.

Other WMSC Facility Rules:

No Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, seafood, or seeded/shelled products are permitted at WMSC.

No diving from the sides of the pool in any areas with depths of less than six feet.

No running, pushing, rough play and speaking inappropriate language is allowed.

No glassware items are allowed in the facility.

Please eat all food items under the covered pavilions or in the picnic table areas.

No food or drink is allowed in the either Pool or in the Restrooms.

Beach volleyball participants are asked to rinse off all sand in the outside shower before re-entering the pool.

Party givers are responsible for the actions and behavior of all their guests. They assume responsibility for the replacement costs of any damaged or broken items.
