Who We Are
Swim West Mobile is a family owned business that was established in 2005. We utilize the swimming facilities at both the West Mobile Swim Club Pool (WMSC) and the Providence Wellness Center Pool (PWC). Our goal is to make a variety of swimming programs accessible and affordable to the people of Mobile and the surrounding area.
Programs at the West Mobile Swim Club Pool (WMSC) are held during the Summer months of May-September and include “Pool Memberships”, Summer League “Competitive Swim and Dive Teams” as well as Traditional “Swim Lessons”.
Programs at the Providence Wellness Center Indoor Pool (PWC) are held during the school year. (September-May) They include "Swim School", Pre-Competitive “Training Teams” as well as USA Competitive "Swim Team” participating through CMSA.
Additional Programs include "West Mobile Baby Fish", which is ISR, "Infant Survival Resource" instruction. It is for ages 6 months to 4 years old through ISR Certified instructor, Lauren Evans Bergoon. They are located at 2423 Schillinger Road South (Suite 110). www.westmobilebabyfish.com
Owners
Brian and Debbie Evans have owned and operated West Mobile Swim Club since 2005. Brian has been involved in aquatics management and year round competitive swimming in Mobile for the past 45 years. Brian currently serves as WMSC's Aquatics Director and Head Swim Team Coach. Prior to becoming owner of WMSC, Brian has worked in aquatics management and swim coaching at many other prominent local swim establishments. Brian is retired from the Mobile County Public School System where he worked for 36 years as a Regular and Adapted Physical Education Specialist. He continues to work part time for the City of Mobile Swim Association as the Head Coach of the Providence Pool (PWC) location and as Head Coach for Cottage Hill Christian Academy High School Swim Team. Debbie has been serving as the Office Manager at West Mobile Swim Club since they opened in 2005. Brian and Debbie have been married for 45 years, they are blessed with four daughters and ten grandchildren. Their daughters are Lauren Bergoon, Brittany Gilbert, Heather Kopf, and Mary Catherine Baker. They all are involved in the family business as social event advisors / coordinators and swim instructors. The Evans family has been working as a team for the past twenty one years to provide the people of Mobile and the surrounding area with the best in quality aquatic programs.
