Congratulations to our 7 Coyote swimmers & 1 swim coach for making the All Star Festival swim meet cut this year!! This swim meet selects the top 32 swimmers of each age group and gender to swim at a special event on March 9th. These 32 swimmers are drafted into 4 different teams (North, South, East, West) and will compete against one another for a winner takes all meet! Several Coyotes shattered team records this past weekend at the Club Championships in East LA. As a team the Coyotes finished 22nd out of 80 teams. Five Coyotes have been invited to attend the 2013 SCS All Star Festival. The Festival assigns elite swimmers in the 5-10, 11-12, and 13-14 age groups to four teams for an exciting quad meet. 32 swimmers per age group and gender are invited to the Festival. The Festival will be held March 2nd at East Los Angeles College. The Coto Coyotes have had 8 team members qualify for individualevents at the inaugural Southern California Swimming Short CourseClub Championships or "Super JO's" being held Feb. 16-18th at EastLA City College. In order to qualify a swimmer must haveachieved a top 32 time in Southern California swimming and met thetime stardards for their event this season, excluding the 1650free. It was yet another busy day for the Coto Coyotes as they volunteered their free time to collect canned food for those in need. After a fun two hours of going door to door in Coto De Caza, our Coyotes brought home 2,322 pounds of food for our local food bank (South County Outreach). It was truly an amazing team effort as all participants worked hard to collect as many cans as possible. It is a great day to call yourself a Coyote! GO COTO!!!

Head Coach Todd Conrad and Coyote team members Brandon Boval and Jonathan Cheng traveled to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada this week for the North America Challenge Cup International Swim Meet. The competition included swimmers from Canada, Mexico, Southern California, Pacific, and Pacific Northwest teams. Coach Todd coached the 17-18 year old boys division, Brandon competed for Southern California Swimming in the boys 15-16 year old division, and Jonathan competed for Southern California Swimming in the boys 11-12 year old division. The first ever Orange County Cup Meet is in the books and was a huge success this past Saturday taking place on a warm sunny Southern California day. A friendly rivalry between four Orange County teams ended with SoCal taking home the first place honors in this inaugural meet followed closely by the Coto Coyotes with 2nd, and ORCA and DA taking 3rd and 4th respectively. The Coto Coyotes set a new team standard for a championship meet by posting their highest finish ever!
