Fourteen Tridents attended the 2011 Winter Age Group Championships In Long Beach this weekend. Before the weekend was over they accumulated 26 top 8 finishes, 27 new team records, and three new Sectional cuts. The team finished 17th in the men’s standings and 17th in the women’s standings. The Team Hike today turned into a great event. 30 swimmers from the Junior and Senior groups participated in the 2 hour hike. Carrying 2 gallons of water in a back pack, which by the way weighs 16 pounds making the uphill hike challenging. The water was used to water some thirsty trees at the top of the Powder Canyon Trail. The Goal Setting session was a great way to start the season. Great Job Tridents!!!!

Alec Hsing wins Two Silvers at NACC Meet Mexico. Alec Hsing represented Southern California Swimming in the North American Challenge Cup last week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Alec won two silvers in the 11/12 100 and 200 meter breaststroke. This meet consisted of All-star teams from Mexico, Canada, Northern California, Souther California, Washington and Oregon. In the 200 breaststroke Alec and his competitor both swam under the Southern California record. Alecs time of 2:38 currently ranks him 3rd in the country. Congrats Alec!
