Barracuda Team Registration:
You will need to know a couple of things before beginning the registration process:

1. At which site and practice group is my child swimming?
Our sites are in Johnson City and Kingsport.  Practice groups are determined by a swimmer's ability level.  Our practice groups are Green, Blue, Silver, PreSenior, and Senior.  If you received an evaluation at the pool, the coach should have mentioned in which practice group your child will begin.  If you still need to schedule an evaluation, simply contact the coach at whichever site is more convenient for you. If you are registering a new swimmer, please wait until you have been given an evaluation and know which practice group your child is in. (Yes, I know this is in big, red letters, but you would be surprised how many people miss this very important step!)

2. Which Payment Plan best meets my needs?
Our fee structure is designed to be fiscally sound and simple to understand.  Those joining or re-registering in September have the option of paying either a lump-sum amount or paying monthly.  Those joining after September will be charged monthly.  Green practice group swimmers only have the monthly payment option.  Details about fees and payment plans are available using the "Fees" link under the "About Our Club" tab at the top of the home page.

3. Which payment method will I use?
Several payment methods are available:
Families may pay by credit card (transaction fees apply)
Families may choose to have their fees automatically withdrawn from their bank accounts.  Simply fill out a DEBIT FORM which can be found by clicking "Forms" under the "For Parents" tab on our website and return it to our Administrative Director.
Families may choose to send a check monthly to our Administrative Coordinator, Kathie Battista at 4111 Glaze Road, Johnson City, TN 37601
(If there are extenuating circumstances which require a family to pay by cash, please contact the team Treasurer or Coach.)

Financial Assistance: If a child qualifies for the Federal Free or Reduced School Lunch Program, significant discounts in both USA Swimming and BSC fees are available.  See a coach or contact our Office Manager for details.

Special Note for Scholarship Families:  In the registration process, the system does not allow us to automatically adjust fees for scholarship swimmers.  Simply indicate the training group and location in which your child is swimming.  Choose the Pay by check option.  We will manually calculate what you owe and inform you of the amount.

During the registration process you will come to a series of Agreements.  Once you have read through these, click the button indicating you understand and agree to them and proceed with the registration process.  If you have any questions about any of the agreements, feel free to contact a Coach or Board member.

Once you have completed the team's registration process it will be reviewed and your account will be activated!

USA Swimming Membership Registration  This part is different this year, so be aware!
Beginning for the 2022-2023 Year, all USA Swimming memberships will need to be done directly through the USA Swimming National Office. This is not our idea, it's their's.

Once club registration is complete, you will be able to click on a button to complete and pay for your USA Swimming membership. Payment for the USA Swimming Membership will be separate from the payments set up for the club.

WHEN do you need to complete your USA Swimming Membership?
New Swimmers will need to do this right away. Please review the types of USA Swimming memberships available (see below) before proceeding with this step. If you have any questions, ask a coach.

Returning Swimmers have until December 31 of this year to re-register with USA Swimming.
There are a few wrinkles for those currently on a Flex membership to consider:
       1. Your membership is good until Dec 31, 2022. However, if you need to Upgrade to a Premium membership between Sept 1 and Dec 31, you will be better served by simply reregistering. Why? If you upgrade a 2022 membership, it will only be good until Dec 31, 2022. However, if you reregister now (as either Flex or Premium), that new membership will be good until Dec 31, 2023.
       2. If you are eligible for Flex during your reregistration, then you get 2 more USA Swimming meets before you will have to upgrade.

Types of USA Swimming Memberships:
Premium: ($80) The Premium Membership is required if (1) a swimmer is 13 years old or older at the time of registration, (2) a swimmer participates in more than 2 USA Swimming Meets during the current swimming year (September through August), and/or (3) a swimmer participates in a meet at or above the Southeastern Championship level.
Flex: ($30) The Flex Membership may be used if (1) a swimmer is 12 years old or younger at the time of registration. A swimmer can only participate in 2 USA Swimming sanctioned meets (summer league doesn't count) while on the Flex membership.  If a swimmer wants to participate in a third USA Swimming meet, that is OK; You will just need to upgrade to a Premium Membership by paying the difference between the two types.
Outreach ($5) An Outreach Membership is for a swimmer who qualifies for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program or has a disability. If you are unsure if you qualify, see a coach for assistance.

We look forward to having you join the Barracuda Swim Club of Northeast Tennessee and are excited for another great season!
