Sierra Marlin 2022 COVID-19 Guidelines (last updated 1/10/2022)
Our Goal is to protect the swimmers, team, and keeping the pool open!
When a swimmer has tested positive for COVID-19:
- Unvaccinated – Swimmer will need to stay out of team functions with the Marlins including swim practice, dryland, meets and social events for 10 days.
- Vaccinated – Swimmer stay out of team functions with the Marlins including swim practice, dryland, meets and social events for 5 days
- Both groups will need to provide a dated negative COVID-19 test (rapid tests are accepted) and/or receive medical clearance from their doctor before engaging in Sierra Marlin activities.
- Those test results/clearance needs to be given to a coach prior to returning to practice.
When a swimmer has been in close contact, being within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer (see definition below on cumulative) to someone who is COVID-19 positive please follow these guidelines. Being with someone in the same lane does add up to a cumulative total of over 15 minutes so it is considered as close contact.
- Unvaccinated - Swimmer will need to go for 7 days out of the water, then a negative COVID-19 test (rapid tests are accepted) no earlier than Day 7. The negative test and/or medical clearance from their doctor needs to be given to their coach before the swimmer will be able to return to practice. If the swimmer chooses not to take a COVID-19 test, they must quarantine for the full 10 days before returning to practice.
- Vaccinated – Swimmer that is vaccinated and have no symptoms you may continue to practice, attend dryland and meets.
Returning college swimmers must have a negative COVID-19 test (rapid tests are accepted) and medical clearance from their School/Doctor before beginning practice with our program.
