Swim Team Evaluations

 

Annual Evaluation Period:  August/September, we will hold appointments for evaluations

  • If the available slots are full OR it is after the August/September evaluation week, you must email [email protected]

 

How Evaluations Work:

Request an evaluation for Steel City Aquatics Swim Team, please email [email protected] with the following information:

  • Your Name (Requestor's Name)
  • Your Contact Information (Email and Phone Number)
  • Child's Name to be evaluated
  • Child's Age
  • Steel City Aquatics Site of your choosing (Montour, Moon, or South Fayette location)
  • Indicate if your child is a NEW Swimmer or an ESTABLISHED Swimmer (USA Swimming, YMCA, or other)
    • List any pertinent comments about your child (if they have ever swam on a team before, strokes learned, etc...)
    • If your child is an ESTABLISHED Swimmer, please include any competitive times that they have acheived in the following events: 50 free, 100 free and any other times that you want to include

A coach will contact you to coordinate the location, date, and time for you to bring your child in for the evaluation.

A coach will evaluate your swimmer at the site and provide you with the appropriate registration group. You will then be able to complete your registration online and sign up for the appropriate swim group prior to the first swim team practice.

Swim Team Qualifications: 

Complete two 25 yard laps of freestyle (breating to the side), one 25 yard back stroke, and understand/attempt breaststroke and butterfly.

Montour Area High School Pool: 225 Clever Road, Mckees Rocks, PA  15136

Moon Area High School Natatorium: 8353 University Blvd, Coraopolis, PA  15108

South Fayette Middle School Natatorium: 3700 Old Oakdale Road, McDonald, PA  15057

 

What to Bring:

Please make sure your child comes dressed in their swimsuit.  Your swimmer should also bring goggles (if they have them) and a towel.  

 

*Mid-Season registrations will have the membership fees pro-rated as applicable.
