Registration Steps

1. Register with Steel City Aquatics Diving Team
2. Register with AAU Diving (insurance required for participation)

Beginner Group 

• Divers who are new to the sport or have little experience. Most divers in this group are learning foundational skills, proper form, and safety on the boards.
• Focus Areas:
  • Introduction to 1-meter springboard diving
  • Basic diving positions: tuck, pike, and straight
  • Safe entries and body control
  • Approach and hurdle fundamentals
  • Building confidence and fun in a structured team setting

Intermediate Group 

• Divers who have mastered the basics and are ready to refine their skills and expand their dive list. These athletes typically have prior meet experience.
• Focus Areas:
  • Refinement of takeoffs and entries
  • Expansion to inward, reverse, and twisting dives
  • Continued development on 1-meter board
  • Mental preparation for competition​
• Entry Requirements:
  • Successful completion of Beginner Level diving group
  • Approval from Head Diving Coach

Practices 

• Practice days and times are subject to change based on pool/facility operations, availability, or inclement weather.

Communication

• Communication is sent out via email with the most up-to-date practice schedule
  • ​In the case of a sudden cancellation, the Head Diving Coach will notify members via email.

Membership Requirements

• Must be:
  • At least 6 years of age
  • Able to swim independently
  • Registered with Steel City Aquatics
  • Registered with an active AAU Diving Membership

Fees

• Beginner: $100.00 /month
• Intermediate: $150.00/month
