Andrew Beggs Director of Competitive Aquatics

Andrew comes to Keystone Aquatics after serving for 7 years as the Head Coach and, more recently, as the CEO of the Columbus Aquatic Club. During his tenure, the team achieved an impressive list of accomplishments in the pool, including producing multiple Georgia State Champions, Futures Champions, Junior National Qualifiers, National Finalists and Olympic Trials Semi-Finalists among others. Notably, Andrew guided one of his swimmers to a top-eight finish at a major National Championship meet in 2019, 2021, and 2022.

Under Andrew's leadership, the girls' team achieved their highest program finish in history, placing fourth at the Georgia Long Course Senior State Championships in 2018, finishing just behind swimming powerhouses Swim Atlanta and Dynamo. While the team's success in the pool is undeniable, Andrew's greatest achievement lies in his ability to cultivate strong relationships with coaches and teams alike. In recognition of his ability to foster relationships, Andrew was appointed as the Junior Coaches Rep of the Georgia LSC in 2022.

Moreover, Andrew played a pivotal role in the growth and development of the Columbus Aquatic Club. During his tenure, the developmental program nearly tripled in size, a testament to his dedication and commitment to nurturing young talent. Additionally, the club's Summer learn-to-swim program also flourished under Andrew's guidance, expanding nearly threefold since his appointment.

In 2020, the Columbus Aquatic Club hosted the largest meet ever held in Columbus, Georgia, an achievement that would not have been possible without Andrew's leadership and vision.

Andrew began his coaching career in 2006 at Riddlewood Swim Club, coaching a team of 15 swimmers in the Delco Summer Swim League. Since then, he has worked with a variety of organizations and programs, including the Ridley Area YMCA RAYS, Brookhaven Swim Club, Sun Valley High School, Swarthmore College, Lionville Community YMCA, Pennypacker Country Club, Columbus Aquatic Club, and DC Trident of the International Swimming League. Throughout his career, Andrew has coached swimmers at every level of competition, from developmental swimmers to Olympic-level athletes.

Andrew has achieved many notable milestones throughout his coaching career. Among his proudest accomplishments, he coached and developed two of Pennsylvania's top female recruits: Heather MacCausland (NC State, 2018) and Emma Atkinson (VT, 2019), who both earned the number one ranking in the state. He also played a pivotal role in Leah Gingrich's remarkable resurgence since her comeback in 2018. Under Andrew's guidance, Leah achieved over 15 lifetime best performances, became a semi-finalist at Olympic Trials in 2021, and as recently as 2021 has ranked in the top-25 swimmers in the world in her respective events. Under Andrew's leadership, the Lionville team accomplished a series of significant milestones, including their first-ever Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100 breaststroke, Greg Grewal. Additionally, the team produced their first age group swimmer for Senior Nationals and secured their first-ever YMCA State Championship victory. Throughout these achievements, Andrew's guidance was instrumental in helping the team set multiple district, state, and national records. In 2020, Andrew had the opportunity to coach with the DC Trident in the International Swim League, where he worked alongside some of the world's most talented swimmers and established coaches for six weeks, making it a truly one-of-a-kind experience and an unparalleled learning opportunity.

In addition to his coaching achievements, Andrew is also a published author, with several articles on swimming and coaching appearing in various publications. His expertise has also led to interviews with multiple swimming media outlets. Andrew has developed a large social media following in the swimming community, which has resulted in numerous partnerships with some of the industry's leading swimming brands.

At Keystone Aquatics, Andrew brings with him a vision to elevate the program to new heights and establish it as one of the most competitive in the LSC. He is determined to build a model age group program in the US by nurturing each swimmer's unique potential and fostering a culture of excellence. With a strong emphasis on discipline and commitment, Andrew is dedicated to instilling values that will empower his swimmers to reach their full potential both in and out of the pool. Keystone Aquatics is excited to have Andrew on board and is eagerly anticipating the great achievements that await our team under his leadership.
