South Davis Aquatics Team 
Tsunami is a year round competitive team offering professional instruction and training all ages and abilities.  Our goal is to provide every member an opportunity to improve their swimming ability and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. 

Learn to Swim

The South Davis Recreation Center offers both Private and Group Swim Lessons.  Group Lessons are offered through the Recreation Center with Red Cross certified swim instructors.  Lessons provide a fun & safe environment for your child to learn how to swim.  Level 6 swim lessons must be completed before progressing to team training.  Register for Swim Lessons here.

Swim League

The Developmental Process to Year Round Comp Team

This is the first stepping stone after having a comprehension of all four strokes.  We have three steps of our developmental process as your athletes transitions from Learn to Swim to our Year Round Comp Team.  The purpose of our Developmental Track is to have fun, develop and instruct the athlete.  We will work on four strokes working to prepare our athletes to join our Year Round Competition Team.  The Developmental Track is for those new to the sport of swimming and have recently passed Swim Lessons Level 6, or have participated on a summer league program.  We call this our Swim League

Swim League Intro

  • Overview: 
    • This is the first stepping stone from lessons to our Competitive Team.  The focus of this group is to have fun, develop and instruct the athlete.  
  • Requirement:
    • Pass Level 6 Swim Lesson​​
  • Registration
    • ​Can be completed online through the rec center.  Select "Online Registration" from the top tab & then Swim League Intro from the left column.

Swim League Level 1 & 2

  • Overview: 
    • The next stepping stones working towards our Year Round Competitve Team.  This is to help transition from prep to team.  This program is for those who love the sport of Swimming and are new to the sport or have participated on a Summer / City Swim League.  We will work on all four strokes and have fun as we learn and grow within the sport.

TSUNAMI

The Year Round Comp Team

Tsunami is divided into six different groups within our program.  Each group is divided by age and ability.  Each group is designed to help your athlete progress to the next level of competition.  All training groups consist of training both in and out of the water. 

TIDE

  • Overview: 
    • Our youngest level of Age Group Swimming on Tsunami.  This group is comprised primarily of our 11 & Under swimmers.  The focus of the group is to have FUN, INSTRUCT, and DEVELOP
  • Expectations:
    • Swim 100 Fr under 2 Min
    • IMR/IMX Events
    • 1 Meet a Month, & LSC Championship Meet
  • Gear:
    • ​​Jump Rope, Fins (Long floating fin), Snorkel, Black Han Paddles, Buoy Kick Board, Mesh Bag and Water Bottle.
    • Team Practice Suit is expected at all regular meet.  Age Groupers are not allowed to have a bonded technical suit at any meet 

WAVE

  • Overview: 
    • The older sibling to our Tide group.  This group is comprised primarily of our 11&Up Swimmers. The purpose of the group is to have fun, instruct and develop as they continue to enjoy the sport.  
  • Expectations:
    • IMR/IMX Events
    • 1 Meet a Month, & LSC Championship Meet
  • Gear:
    • ​​Jump Rope, Fins (Long floating fin), Snorkel, Black Han Paddles, Buoy Kick Board, Mesh Bag and Water Bottle.
    • Team Practice Suit is expected at all regular meet.  Age Groupers are not allowed to have a bonded technical suit at any meet 

SENIORS

  • Overview:
    • ​Our Competitve Senior Program at Tsunami.  Designed for our H.S. Age athletes preparing for the Elite Team.  Swimmers in this group will learn to enjoy the process and appreciate the value of long term commitment.
  • Expectations:
    • IMR/IMX Events
    • 1 Meet a Month, & LSC Championship Meet
  • Gear:
    • ​​Jump Rope, Fins (Long floating fin), Snorkel, Black Han Paddles, Buoy Kick Board, Mesh Bag and Water Bottle.
    • Team Practice Suit is expected at all regular meet.  Age Groupers are not allowed to have a bonded technical suit at any meet 

BLUE

  • Overview: 
    • ​The advanced Age Group Program on Tsunami.  The focus is the group is to refine stroke mechanics and focus conditioning.  
  • Expectations:
    • IMR/IMX Events
    • 1 Meet a Month, & LSC Championship Meet
  • Gear:
    • ​​Jump Rope, Fins (Long floating fin), Snorkel, Black Han Paddles, Buoy Kick Board, Mesh Bag and Water Bottle.
    • Team Practice Suit is expected at all regular meet.  Technical Race Suits are for championship type meets.  If you have any questions regarding a Technical Race suit on what to buy and when contact your coach. Age Groupers are not allowed to have a bonded technical suit at any meet.

Jr ELITE

  • Overview: 
    • ​Designed for our top Age Group and Jr High age athletes preparing for the Elite Team.  Swimmers in this group will learn to enjoy the process and appreciate the value of long term commitment.
  • Expectations:
    • IMR/IMX Events
    • 1 Meet a Month, LSC Championship Meet & Higher Qualifying Meets
  • Gear:
    • ​​Jump Rope, Fins (Long floating fin), Snorkel, Black Han Paddles, Buoy Kick Board, Mesh Bag and Water Bottle.
    • Team Practice Suit is expected at all regular meet.  Technical Race Suits are for championship type meets.  If you have any questions regarding a Technical Race suit on what to buy and when contact your coach. Age Groupers are not allowed to have a bonded technical suit at any meet 

ELITE

  • Overview: 
    • ​The top competitive group at S Davis who exhibit a high level of performance and practice ability.  This attendance policy is consistent with what's needed to achieve the swimmers potential.  Having an emphasis on proper technique and training skills.
