South Davis Aquatics Team

The South Davis Aquatics Team (SDAT) is a year-round, USA Swimming sanctioned competitive swim team with approximately 200 participating swimmers. SDAT has eight different levels within the team so as to accommodate many swimming abilities.  Swimmers are divided into practice groups based on their age and ability level. Coaches use drill and training principles to help the swimmers improve their technique, speed, and endurance in the four competitive strokes - freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Meets are held about once a month with other area teams.SDAT practices year-round at the South Davis Recreation Center in Bountiful, Utah and competes in various swim meets all over the state.

Mission

Empowering athletes to become champions in and out of the water.

Philosophy

Developing swimmers, through application of basic life principles such as tenacity, courage, respect, hard work, and responsibility for self, can achieve a strong moral character as they embrace the unique opportunities afforded to them through the rewarding sport of swimming. The purpose of the South Davis Aquatics Team (SDAT) is to instill in the individual an unwavering sense of discipline and an element of confidence which allow each swimmer the ability to reach beyond their expectation with enthusiasm and determination as they encounter new realms of success and an ability to realize a new potential both physically and mentally. This success is attained within a support system of nurturing parental involvement, trusted coaches who direct with vision, and loyal friendships tested by camaraderie. To ensure the safety of all athletes, SDAT has athlete protection policies in place and is committed to adhering to SafeSport guidelines. These essential elements create a formidable team bond that respects individual achievement while contributing to the success of the whole. A person of integrity and an athlete with resilience puts for an empowered individual prepared to encounter life challenges both in and out of the pool.
