SMAC Fall Classic, Nov 20-21, 2021

SMAC (Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club) brought 75 swimmers to the Waynesboro Y where we hosted our 14 and under Fall Classic.  To my knowledge this is the most swimmers SMAC has ever entered into a meet.

It is a lot of work to Host a swim meet and a big thank you to all of our volunteers!!!  Special thanks to Meet Director Tracy Straight, assistant Meet director Fenton McMahon and all of our Volunteer Coordinators.

The 75 swimmers who attended the meet swam a total of 495 races.  Of the 495 races 238 of the races were new events for the swimmer (races that the swimmers had never done before).  Congratulations for our younger swimmers for trying new events.  SMAC had best times in 211 out of the 257 swims in which our swimmers had previously swam the event.  This is an amazing 82% best times.  We had so many best times, it would take too long to name all of the swimmers with all best times or even all of the swimmers with more than 6 best times.  Great job from everyone who swam at the meet.

We had 16 swims in which SMAC swimmers dropped over 20 seconds from their best time:  Below is a list of the swimmer with the event and time improvement.

SMAC finished in first place in 28 races.  Below is a list of the swimmers who finished first in a race:  Great job swimmers and way to keep the expectations high for yourselves and your teammates.

Congratulations to Sophie Wang and Aislynn Neal for making new Age Group Cuts.  Sophie in the girls 11/12 50 breast and Aislynn in the girls 11/12 50 fly.

SMAC will take 50 swimmers to the Hoki Swim and Tri Meet Dec 9-12.  The swimmers have put in the time and effort this season and now it is time to reap the rewards from their dedication.

We have added several new swimmers over the past few weeks.  Please take time to say hello and introduce yourselves to them.

Go SMAC!!!
