Our team is divided into multiple groups (see below), allowing swimmers to train at their own level alongside peers of similar age and ability. Please remember that practice groups are ultimately, and solely decided by the coaching staff, and are never automatic (e.g. turning a certain age, or attaining times). Coaches will take into account meet and practice performance, physical and social maturity, age, commitment, attendance, and overall preparedness for the next group before promoting a swimmer. |

This group is an introduction to competitive swimming. Focus will be on developing the four competitive strokes, building basic skills such as flip turns, streamlines, underwater dolphin kicks and starts. Swimmers are encouraged to continue in other sports and activities. Meets are optional at this level. This group is intended for athletes who wish to develop their swim skills in a less competitive atmosphere or for those wanting to prepare for the more competitive groups. This group may be combined with Blue, depending on enrollment. |

This group is an introduction to competitive swimming. Focus will be on developing the four competitive strokes, building basic skills such flip turns, streamlines, underwater dolphin kicks, and starts. A focus on building endurance will also be emphasized. Meets are optional at this level.This group is intended for athletes who wish to develop their swim skills in a less competitive atmosphere or for those wanting to prepare for the more competitive groups. 11 & Older |
Bronze |
Athletes in this group are familiar with the skills required to be a competitive swimmer. Swimmers in this group are at least 6 years of age and able to complete a legal 100 IM and flip turns. A strong emphasis will be placed on stroke development and executing drills properly. Using the pace clock and basic sets will also be introduced. Local meets strongly encouraged. Long course participation is expected in this group. |

Athletes in this group are more familiar with competitive swimming. A strong emphasis will be placed on stroke refinement, following directions, reading a pace clock, and becoming more independent as a swimmer. Meets are strongly encouraged. Championship meets(Dec, Feb, March (if qualified), July and home meets (January, June) are expected for this level. Athletes in this group should be able to complete a legal 200 IM and 200 freestyle. The goal of this group is to compete in every event offered to their age group and become well rounded swimmers. Long course participation is expected for swimmers in this group. |

This is the top level of our competitive age group program. Athletes in this group are familiar with competitive swimming and are ready to make a deeper committment to the sport. Swimmers must be able to demonstrate the ability to follow more complex directions and sets. A strong emphasis will be placed on stroke technique while continuing to build speed and endurance. Goal setting and more advanced dryland will be introduced at this level. Racing often is important at this level of training, therefore consistent meet participation is expected. Championship meets (December, Feburary, March (if qualified), July) and team hosted meets (January, June) are required. Swimmers are expected to compete in all 100's, 200's and 400 IM/500 Free at this level. Long Course participation is expected for swimmers in this group. |

Senior |
Athletes in this level must be at least 13 years of age (A times) or in High School. Emphasis will be on training habits and developing leadership skills in and out of the pool. Athletes will also strive to build mental toughness, speed, agility, and endurance. A desire and ability to train consistently as well as a committment to attend practices and meets is required for participation in this group. |
