1.     Team Unify is live.  All registered families have received an e-mail for login info for the website.  You should all be looking at and working with the webpage to make yourself familiar with everything.

If you have not received a log-in e-mail then the Y has not received your registration forms for 2011-2012.  Otherwise you should contact me to make sure that I am using a correct e-mail address.

The website is now the place for all news items, and for event sign-up and information.  We are working on adding your escrow account to the website also.  This should be done before the end of the year.  I will ask that all families insure that you have monies in your accounts prior to entering swim meets.  

Team Unify has some tutorial information available for helping you with different aspects of the page.  There is also a support number you can get by clicking on their link at the bottom of the page.  Please use the tutorials.  They have been very useful to me for setting up our website.  Most of the questions that people are asking me I do not know answers for because like you I have not done that task.  Again please use the tutorials to help with all aspects of the webpage.  There are also many things that you can do with your account and member pages.  Please take a look at all the tutorials so that you can become aware of everything that can be done on the website.

The site is a long way from being complete.  If there is something that I can get on the site that would be useful to the team please let me know.

All information regarding a particular meet or event will be posted under that meet/event.  I have all information received from both WGLO and Oshkosh under those meets.  I also will direct you to the host team’s website if more additional information regarding the meet is posted.  (Such as heat sheets, entry lists, live results, etc).

Currently you should be updating and adding to your account page and your swimmer’s pages.  You can already enter the Mock Meet, GBY Sprint Meet, and Y Finalist Meet.  You may also sign-up for the Turkey Trot water station.  And for all home meets you can also sign-up for your work assignments for the swim meets.  Job sign-up is open for the GBY Sprint Meet, on December 3. 

Thanks for your patience with this transition to the website.  Please make sure that you start checking the site on a regular basis for team news.  I will with most new items I post send it out to the team to the e-mail(s) in your account.  And you can add more e-mails on your account page.  You will be seeing a lot more e-mails because of the website.

2.     Thirty six GBY swimmers are attending the Oshkosh Champions Meet, this Friday-Sunday, November 18-20, 2011, at the Oshkosh Y (address and map are under the meet on the website).  Also on the website our warm-up assignments for the entire meet.  Please make sure that all swimmers are behind that lane 5 minutes before our scheduled warm-up time.  All other items received from Oshkosh are on our website.  Please refer to Oshkosh’s website for any future meet info including heat sheets, etc.  Please refer to the websites for all info regarding the meet.

3.     Nineteen GBY swimmers are attending the WGLO Meet this Friday-Sunday, November 18-20, 2011, at the Schroeder Aquatic Center. (address and map are under the meet on the website).  Also on the website our warm-up assignments for the pre-lim sessions.  Please make sure that all swimmers are behind that lane 5 minutes before our scheduled warm-up time.  All other items received from Lake Country are on our website.  Please refer to Lake Country’s website for any future meet info including Live Results.  Please refer to the websites for all info regarding the meet.  I would also read over the meet information carefully regarding prelims & finals/Australian Skins, etc.

4.     We will hold our 2^nd new parent informational meeting regarding meet entries and meet responsibilities.  This meet will be held from 5-6pm, in the balcony of the SWHS pool, this Tuesday, November 22, 2011.  All new parent’s to the GBY swim team should attend.  Please familiarize yourself with the website and you account and swimmers page.  Entry into swim meets will go through the website.  I would ask that click on both the Mock Meet and GBY Sprint Meet to become familiar with the process.  We will also talk about meet responsibilities for the parents.  Both these meet entries and job sign-ups are not due until after the meeting.  See you on Tuesday.

5.     Assorted Notes –

·         Please remember that all GBY swimmers must scan their membership card before entry in to our Y’s.  If you need a membership card, stop at any Y front desk and they can make you one.  I would suggest a key card which could be attached to the swimmer’s bag so they always have it. 

·         No practice on Friday or Saturday, November 18 & 19, 2011, due to the swim meets.  Remember that there are no practices next Thursday thru Saturday, November 24-26, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.  These are all reflective on the GBY calendar on the website.

·         Team picture will be taken on Wednesday, December 21, 2011.  Check this event on the website.  As I get more info I will post it on the website.

·         The message service has been cancelled.  All notes & alerts will be done through the webpage.
