1.     We are hosting (405) swimmers from (8) different Y teams this Saturday, December 3, 2011, for our GBY Sprint Meet.  This is a split session meet with (8&unders & 9-10’s) swimming the AM session, and (11-12’s, 13-14’s & 15&overs) swimming the PM session.  We will need all AM swimmers and their families at the pool at 7:00am to set-up the pool area.  Our warm-up time for the AM session is from 7:30-8:00am.  AM session begins at 8:40am.  The PM session warm-ups are from noon-12:30pm but arrives at 11:30am because if AM session is concluded we will begin to warm-up swimmers prior to Noon.  All PM swimmers and their families will help tear down and clean-up at the conclusion of the meet.  

All heat sheets, entry list with heats and lanes, warm-up assignments, session report are on the web site under the GBY Sprint Meet (drop down list – GBY meets & events).  Print your own heat sheets.  Please ensure that all swimmers have their event #’s, heats & lanes written on their arm prior to arriving to the meet.  Also include their relay too.  We will meet with the kids immediately after our warm-ups to insure that they know their relay swimmers and have all the event information they need.

The National Team will be running a bake sale at the meet.  Please read the note about this on the website.

If you have not signed up for a job yet please do so by tomorrow.  Remember that a parent is required to work the meet if you have a child or children participating in the meet.  The Parent Group Committee will charge you family double entry fees if you do not meet this obligation.

2.     Thanks to everyone for your assistance with the website.  I would be checking the site on a regular basis.  I do add notes or news items all the time.  I usually send an e-mail alert out with any new item that I add to the site.  Also insure that you are getting signed up for meets and events prior to the deadline date.  I will not extend anymore deadlines for any upcoming meets or events.  Also remember that I will continue to add meet info and entry material to site when I receive it.  Under your account page you may add as many additional e-mail addresses so that my news and alerts will be sent to whoever you would like to receive them.  Currently I only send to the e-mail that you logged in under.  So if you need more e-mail addresses please add them on your account page. 

You are all receiving a final escrow statement through the mail.  We will transfer all balances to the website sometime next week.  Then all escrow charges, payments and activities will be on your account page.  I would ask that all negative balances be taken care of by next week.  The website will be set not to allow any meet or event sign-ups with a negative balance nor will you be allowed enter any future meet or event with a negative balance.  So thank you for keeping track of your escrow account and keeping ample monies in the account to handle all future expenses.  You still will pay your escrow at the DT Front Desk.

3.     Paul Manke Photography will be here on Wednesday, December 21, to take a team picture.  He will also shoot individual pictures for those swimmers who would like them.  An order form is on the website and can be returned to Paul that night.  The team picture will be shot from 6-6:30pm in the large gym.  All team member should be there including are boys high school swimmers.  See the website for more information.

4.     Assorted Notes –

·         Please remember that all GBY swimmers must scan their membership card before entry in to our Y’s.  If you need a membership card, stop at any Y front desk and they can make you one.  I would suggest a key card which could be attached to the swimmer’s bag so they always have it. 

·         GBY swimmers may still order team suits, etc from Walter’s at any time.  Walter’s will be selling at our Sprint Meet next Saturday.  Both the Speedo Logo and Walters Logo will link you to Walter’s Swim Supplies for all contact information.  Walter’s will have the remaining items at the meet next Saturday. Joe usually sets up around 7:30am.

·         Next week the practice schedule changes on Wednesday evening.  Bronze will practice from 6:30-7:30pm, and Silver and Gold III from 7:30-8:45pm, at the DT Y Pool.  The Gold team will practice at SWHS from 4-6pm.  With the exception of my lane 6 Silver swimmers no other Silver swimmers should attend with the Bronze practice.
