1. I hope everyone is enjoying the team website.  It seems to be working out well. 

I cannot stress the importance of signing up for meets and events before the registration deadline.  When I post an event or meet you will be notified then of it being out on the site. You also will automatically receive a notice 7 days before a deadline.  After a deadline the sign-up will be closed and you are no longer able to get into that event or meet.  I will suggest that all swimmers and parents check through the site on a regular basis.  As of January 1, 2012 the policy will be ONCE A DEADLINE HAS PASSED NO LATE REGISTRATIONS OR ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.  And I would also ask that you do not contact me to ask for an exception either.  Thank you.  If anyone would like to schedule a time to come in and meet with me about the site I would be glad too.  Do remember that many things I am doing for the first time too. 

We are continuing to work on the escrow system in the web site.  All balances from the old system have been posted in the new website.  We will not be posting payments until after the first of the year because Julie Harris is on vacation until January 2.  We will have all charges in the system for Schroeder, DCY, USA Registration and bowling hopefully by around that time.   We are working on scheduling an invoice date other than the 1^st of the month but have not accomplished that yet.  I have a call into Team Unify but have not heard back. 

You should also have all the e-mails under your account that you would like web site related e-mails to be sent to.  This could include your swimmers also.  Check out the tutorials on the site to see all the features that are available for your account.

1. We have 76 swimmers and family members who registered on time to attend the bowling party.  The list attached on the website does not list the additional family members who you signed up to attend but you are set to go.  The Socha’s have agreed to take late registrations by e-mail.  [email protected]  They must hear from you by Friday, December 23, 2011 at 5:30pm. You will need to pay them cash at the bowling alley before you bowl.

1. Holiday schedule is posted on the website on the team calendar.  Bronze, Silver and Gold III you will have normal practices and times on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  There are no afternoon or evening practices on Tuesday, December 27 due to the bowling party.  The Gold I & II practices are all schedule for mornings next week and are all at the DT Y pool.  Again these times are posted on the GBY Workout Calendar on the website.

1. Assorted Notes

·         I have generated a top times report from the Team Unify website.  This is posted under documents on the website.  I will try to update this as often as I can.

·         Please remember that all GBY swimmers must scan their membership card before entry in to our Y’s.  If you need a membership card, stop at any Y front desk and they can make you one.  I would suggest a key card which could be attached to the swimmer’s bag so they always have it. 

·         Winter reminder – All swimmers should be dressing properly for the weather.  Including a winter coat, hat and no shorts.  I will try to monitor this when I can but please ensure that your kids are dressed properly for the weather.

·         There is practice this Friday afternoon for Gold swimmers and Saturday is for Gold I and invited Gold II swimmers. See the workout calendar.

·         I probably will not have a newsletter next week.  If anything comes out I will send it out through the website
