· We had a very nice turn-out for the meeting last night. Thanks to all who attended. I did post the agenda under the documents on the website. You will also find the practice schedule as well as other items for the summer such as hotel blocks, LC Y National QT’s, and USA State QT’s. I will again run a fall all-parent meeting on September 25. All families should have a parent attend.
Practices begin today. We did talk about group placements last night. Any questions should go to Dave. Swimmers cannot change or try-out a new practice groups unless approved by Dave. Thanks!
· We have 252 attending the Banquet this Friday, May 11, 2012. The banquet will be held at the Riverside Ballroom, at 1560 Main St. Social hour from 5-6pm, Dinner and awards from 6-8pm, and DJ and dancing from 8-11pm. It should be a wonderful night!
· I had to get a t-shirt order in to the Marathon people. But still have plenty of volunteer spots to fill. I will distribute shirts towards the end of next week to those who have signed up. I also will distribute to those older swimmers who did not sign up. I am still hoping to have 70+ volunteers at our water station. The Cellcom Marathon is next Sunday, May 20. Our water station is at about the 2 mile mark of the race. We set up on Hickory Hollow Dr at Marquette Park. This is about 4 blocks east of Oneida St. We will meet and get started at 6am. Race starts at 7am, and we start seeing runners about 9 minutes later. We usually are wrapped up with clean-up and tear down by 8-8:15am. Volunteers get food and drink at the finish line after we are done. You still can e-mail with names and t-shirt sizes. Thanks everybody for their help with this event.
· The charges for the stroke clinics, out of season workouts, and the Banquet will hit your escrow accounts very shortly. Please make sure that you have ample monies in your account to cover these charges. You may always put money in your account by calling the DT Y business staff, stopping at the DT Y front desk or mailing this payment to Swim Team Escrow, 235 N Jefferson St, Green Bay, WI 54301. All families have full-time access to your account so please keep up. Thanks!
· Assorted Notes-
a. Entries are open for the following meets. Pabst Farms, (June 1-3), Friday Night 50’s and worker sign-up, (June 15), FCY Summer Classic (June 23-24), Birdbath Open (July 6-8). We may not be able to get in the WGLO meet because it is filled and I did not reserve any swims. I am working with Lake Country for spots but with no success. The Oshkosh Y will also host their “Make A Difference” Meet on July 15. And that is not posted yet. Also look for the USA State Meets in probably late June.
b. I will still accept Lowell Jorgensen Ballots from Gold swimmer through Thursday night’s practice. Please get these to me.
c. Saturday morning practices begin this Saturday AM, 6-8am, BV Y. I will announce at practices the Saturday’s that we will practice. May 12 & 19 for sure. These are open to Gold I and invited Gold II swimmers.
d. Please remember that all GBY swimmers age 8&over must has a Y membership card to enter our YMCA’s. Please stop by any Y front desk if you a need a new one made up. Please bring your card so that our front desk staff do not have to manually enter you into the facility.
