  1.  Twenty one GBY swimmers and siblings are signed up for Camp Uni.  Thank you to Mr. Wolf, Mrs. Kelly & Mrs. Nowak for chaperoning.  The swimmers and chaperones will be put into cabins 11 & 12.  Bus will leave from the south parking lot of the Westside Y at 9:30am on Monday, August 20. The bus will return to the same place at 2:15pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Please ensure that your kids are there by about 9:15am, Monday to get loaded up and that you are there at 2:15pm on Wednesday to pick them up.  The roster, schedule and what to pack list are on the website.  The camp is only for two nights so do no over pack.  Please make sure that you have everything marked and keep good track of their stuff.
  2. We will have our Fall-All parent meeting again at St Mary’s roller rink, on Tuesday evening, September 25. The roller rink is located at 1265 Cass St.  Skating will be from 6-8pm, and the meeting will start at 6:15pm.  A parent from every family must attend.  Registration packets will be available that night and gone over.  The updated handbook will be posted on the web site sometime in September.  There is no cost for this event.  All team members and siblings can come and skate.
  3. The fall stroke clinics are posted on the website calendar.  The clinics are open to all Gold and approved Silver swimmers.  The clinics involve between 3000-4000 yards of swimming most nights.  I will let most Silver Swimmers try a clinic but if they cannot keep up then they should not be in the clinics. Also crowding may become an issue too is I allow to many swimmers.  Cost for clinics are $5.00 each. Some of you have already paid for these clinics by registering and paying for them with your last fall’s registration.  All clinics will be billed to escrow accounts when the clinics are completed.
  4. Every year three parents leave the Parent committee and three more parents are needed to replace them.  We are still in need of parents to fill these three spots.  I have had a couple people mentioned as joining the committee but I would ask all parents to call me if you are interested in the Parent committee.  The committee meets the 2nd Monday of the month, from 5:30-7:00pm in the 2nd floor Lobby area of the DT Y.  A parent committee member will also need to lead one of the sub-committees.  Please contact me for more information or to volunteer for a spot on the committee. Thank you.  The next Parent Committee meeting is Monday, September 10.
  5. The fall/winter practice schedule is already posted on the web site. I have also begun to add events and meets to the team events list on the website.  We are going to discuss meets at the September parent meeting so I am holding off on adding some meets to the schedule.
  6. Assorted Notes-

·        Off season workouts for next week are moved to the BV Y due to the cleaning of the DT Y pool. These are still from 3:45-5:30pm.

·        After this week I am out of the office from August 20-September 3, except Monday, August 27 when I come in for by coverage duty. 

·        Please make sure all of your escrow balances are taken care of by the end of the month.  All charges for the summer season are posted.  I will post any charges for August off-season workouts in early September.
